UK - make banks apply same rules to three party transactions

Sorry if this is too far OT, but it is something that needs highlighting and perhaps will gain a lot of momentum if word is spread... Under UK law credit card companies are only obliged to investigate disputes between two parties, since historically transactions only took place between two parties. ...

I would have to say... no thanks! I only just moved away from a £20 biege box tower case. :-) I'm not ready for a Skeleton case just yet!

Whatever your opinion, it is certainly generating a lot of interest.

I use this one: http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/ It sure looks a lot nicer than atitool, but I found it doesn't load the card as much as atitool. I was testing a suspect X1950 Pro, that would repeatedly crashed after long sessions of test drive unlimited or CoD4. The same card would run rth...

I had the same choices to make... Q9450 vs Q6600. Q9450 runs cooler, lower wattage at idle and THG (i know!) averaged around a 7% performance increase thanks to the extra cache. SSE4.1 gives big improvements to programs supporting it.... Q6600 is cheaper, and overclocks very well. 3.2Ghz is common (...

It doesn't look any bigger than the other 1KW PSUs I've seen reviews, it differs from most 'large' PSUs by having the fan at one end rather than the middle.

I only hope this encourages others to release Silver (and one day Gold) 80+ PSUs.

I recently bought a Q6600, and TRUE and a Nexus fan. I'm running at 3.2GHz (400x8), my idle temps are 31-32 C and get to 55 under sustained high load with virtually no increase in voltage, I could probably push it to 3.4 and maybe 3.6, but in exchange for much higher voltage and much higher temps. Supposedly the new Pioneer DVR-116/216 series have a redesigned chassis for lower noise. We'll see if they are any quieter next month when they are officially released. That's an interesting suggestion, but I wonder how useful it really would be. With all other heatsinks, because they have a one-piece base that makes contact with the die, as long as it covers the die, the heat transfer effectiveness would not change. Things like mounting pressure & evenness, flatn...

Amazon

After lots of searching, I've just bought a P182 and a Corsair HX620 through Amazon - via one of their third party sellers - it was by far the cheapest price I could find.

I was surprised, I'd pretty much written Amazon off on computer gear, but they do have some surprisingly cheap gear.
