Re: 140 mm Fan Roundup: Noctua, Phanteks, Xigmatek

Maybe it's a way too old article to edit now, but I suggest the Phanteks PH-140HP/TS should be named only PH-140HP to avoid confusion. I was a little too fast and unfortunately bought the TS version (the one with straight struts). I regret it, even at 5v it's quite loud, louder than my Fractal fans ...

Samsung T240 - A buzzing sound begins at ~85%, and then the sound comes and goes, for example 61% can be louder than 60% and sometimes 60% can be louder than 61%. So it does not become louder the lower you go.

Sometimes the sound can be heard all across my room. Buzzing and annoying.

So much for cable management, it's a disease isn't it. I'll soon be buying some sounddampening mats from Be-quiet, mainly because it will lower my total system noise(hopefully) and... i'll be able to hide the cases cables, just like you've done. Though you shouldn't worry, i won't beat you haha.

Wow, the P12 fan really isin't as good as i thought. Can you review the fan like you've done with so many other fans, Mike? Would really appreciate it.

Fred wrote:How would the 1200 RPM slipstream at full speed compare to a tricool on the medium setting in terms of noise?
I have both fans, and Slipstream at 12v sounds a lot more than TriCool at low, though TriCool at medium is slightly louder than the Slipstream at 12v - slightly.

Woohoo, glad to know that i'm not alone :)

I'm just like you, my Nexusfans runs at ~750-800rpm. They still push a respectable amount of air at that rpm. Though i can stand one Nexus spinning at 1000rpm, but not three of them, like they did when i first plugged them in.

Thanks, explains a lot. Though I'm still not 100% convinced over the P12 before SPCR reviews the fan and confrims this. Anyway, i see now.. The Nexus pushes 29cfm at 22dB(A), while the Slipstream M pushes 30cfm at 21dB(A). I had to check if my fan was the H-version. Look what i saw; http://data.fusk...
