You have way too many fans. You shouldn't need intake fans unless your southbridge ou GPU runs hot. Even then, just one should sufice. Also, is push-pull on the CPU heatsink really necessary? Three fans that close will increase the noise level dramatically. Check if you can live without the "pull" f...

Thanks very much, that is what I am worried about. I guess slipstream does not have the best QC. Btw, Just wondering how do you control S-Flex in variable speed, it is not PWM fan, by speedfan? or a fan controller? It's controlled by the motherboard. My mobo has two settings for fan control: DC and...

Scythe Slipstreams click. I think it's because they have sleeve bearings. I had two, a 1200 rpm and a 800 rpm. The 1200 rpm clicked softly, the 800 rpm clicked audibly and both did so at any speed. I replaced them with S-Flex fans, which have much better bearings. No more clicking. The one on CPU he...

Out of the box, all Antec cases are noisy because they come with noisy Tricool fans. Once you replace them with good fans, a P18x is very quiet. I have a P182 so I can share my experience with it: 1) Air flow in a P182 is only so-so. Not as bad as my previous Asus microATX case, but achieving silenc...

Your first order of business should be tossing those Tricools into the trash bin and replacing them with quieter fans that actually push air. Your PC will overheat with Tricools if your keep them at low setting. And it will be noisy, too. Regarding temperature, what works best in my P182 has been tw...

I have two SFF12D and one SFF12E. None of them whine. A whoosh is audible at or above 800 rpm. I use mine at 600 rpm. If you value airflow above all, you might consider getting a Scythe Slipstream. Pushes more air than a S-Flex and is quieter at high rpm. The downside is that Slipstreams have an alm...

P183 has much better airflow, since the whole front is, essencially, a big air filter. A Core i7 is bound to overheat in a stock P182. The intake door is restrictive and the 5.25'' bays are blocked, so there are less places to intake air from. I had to a lot of headscratching when I mounted a Athlon...

Why settle for lesser of the two coolers? Because the S2 is cheaper. A X1300 seems to be a low end card, therefore it might run cool. If so, a S2 should suffice and the 6 euro saved can go towards a CPU heatsink. If the X1300 runs hot (or can't confirm it runs cool) then I'll get a S1 for my friend.

Have you checked the CPU usage when playing HD video? Your CPU might be too slow. The Sempron LE 1200 (2.1 GHz) in my HTPC barely has the power to play 720p video, so it skips frames every now and then.

A Slipstream above 1000 rpm is loud. Mine run at 800 rpm and don't bother me.
