Re: Need 9cm fan with low start voltage

Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPro PE-1 92mm x 25mm Ultra Quiet Fan - 1300 RPM - 14 dBA , has a starting voltage of 5V, and lower rated top speed, so i would guess would end up quieter (but havent tried it), another to look into is Scythe S-FLEX™ SFF92A 92 x 92 x 25 mm Fan w/ S-FDB Bearing (1000rpm) , ...

Need 9cm fan with low start voltage

I have a Synology DS212J NAS using Y.S. Tech FD129225LS-N as case fan, which is a 92mm fan with below specs. It's quiet but not silent thus I'm going to get a lower-speed fan to replace it. Operating Voltage Range: 7~13.2V Speed: 1800RPM Noise Level: 25dBA I have single WD Green disk installed and t...

Re: Build the Perfect Lab or Office Workstation

Very clean build and beautiful pictures! Glad to see HR02 is used but wondering why it's not reviewed in SPCR. One question regarding Intel's DP67BG, is it fan speed control as good as ASUS'? i.e. can specify a fan speed vs. temperature curve for most fans connected (rather than CPU fan only) no mat...

It looks very balanced.... That said, I am a bit skeptical about ADATA SSD. I'd purchase OCZ, Corsair etc if I were to be in Sandforce campaign. I don't really trust ADATA's firmware talent, sorry firmware development. In this regard, OCZ enjoys a huge advantage compared to ADATA ..... Me too, howe...

Is Gentle Typoon suitable for CPU cooling with HR01 PLUS?

I'm looking into a customized 500~1500rpm PWM model. The speed is ideal however I'm not sure whether it's suitable for CPU cooling. Has anyone used it before?

Re: Small, silent, minimalistic and powerful PC (or is it?)

With four SFF21F (1600rpm) fans, how can you expect it to be quiet? Generally we use fans <= 800rpm.

Though it looks like you are enthusiast of Corsair, the hydro H80 is definitely not comparable with top air cooling heatsinks such like Thermalright HR02 on silence.

Will blocking P183's top vent improve cooling performance?

Recently I got a P183v3 but not installed yet. I'm going to use the rear fan only (perhaps add a mid fan to cool VGA card) since the top fan is known as noisy due to structual drawback. However with the top vent opened only, the air flow is somewhat strange (looks like a short cut from top to rear)....

Antec Solo II is not too bad

When the first time I saw it from Computex news, I was surprised on its ugly appearance comparing with original Solo. Today I saw some more pictures (it's said that it will be available in Japan within one week) and change my mind that it worths trying. The major improvement is cooling design, as we...

This is a good question. The answer is that I already own a fanless PSU and I'm interested in P183 now. For new build, I will never consider this combination.

Is X-400 fanless suitable for Antec P183

I'm considering trying P183 since the upcoming P280 is really disappointing to me.

If it's placed in the lower chamber, will the heat be accumulated since there is no way to get hot air out?

It's a nice build, except the CPU cooler doesn't belong to the top class  BTW, have you tried to load CPU (Prime95) and GPU (Furmark) simultaneously? Only in this condition, we know the worst case noise and temperature. Since you are using PWM for case fan and CPU cooler (I suppose), the noise ...

Re: Antec NSK3480 with passively cooled Core i7 2600

Oops, 32C is somewhat high. Are you talking about Tcase (single value measurement of CPU case) or Tcore (4 values corresponding to each core)? I use Prime95 (CPU test) and Furmark (GPU test), which are also used in SPCR review. When we talk about temperature in "Load", we run both CPU and GPU. Below...

Re: Antec NSK3480 with passively cooled Core i7 2600

Very nice build! I was going to build the similar system with NSK3480, however finally given up since the optical drive can't be fit into the upper chamber with the presence of a longer (than ATX) PSU such like X-400. It would be great if you can attach temperature measurements in both idle and load...

Re: Feedback on Silent PC

The build looks pretty solid if you don't quite care about silence. Regarding Silent Pro, you can refer the 700W model's review. http://www.silentpcreview.com/article936-page7.html As you can see, it is just ok and doesn't belong to the best class. I would recommend Seasonic X-560, though more expen...

Re: Quiet PC Plan

It's a question whether your current configuration could be "a very quiet gaming desktop". 1 If you read the review, you may already know P183's case fan is noisy since the lowest speed is still very high to silencers (i.e. 1200rpm). You need to invest some money on some low speed fan (single fan at...

I'm not familiar with Hitachi 5K300, however my suggestion is that never use WD20EARS for your system disk unless it's a temporary solution. I used a WD15EARS for system disk (Windows 7 installed) for ~half a year, just like you, I prefer single mechanical hard disk in system. (1) It's significantly...

WD Green series should be the most quiet one, however its performance is also very low especially EARS which has the so called "Advanced 4KB Format". If you have other disk such like SSD as system, go ahead and always avoid it as system disk.

The front fan is not necessary generally. In my Solo, I experience much larger noise after closing the side panel...
