Babelfish hurts... I'm not a translator, but I live and work in english and french every day, so here's my quick-and-dirty translation of the pcimpact.com article: "As we have seen in our Athlon II X4 620 preview, AMD has once again opted to go with a relatively high voltage despite the reduced size...

This review couldn't have come at a better time for me, as I began looking at the ISK-300 for a Zotac Ionitx build just the other day. FWIW, at the local (good) computer shop, the case is retailing for $95 Cdn. I was thinking of replacing the TriCool, now I know I'm going to. Who's got Noctua that's...

Thanks for your input, piglover and ascl! I think ascl's right... I am worrying about it a bit too much. I see that my local decent computer shop's carrying the Antec ISK-300 model. Replace the 80mm tri-cool with a couple of Scythe s-flex or Nexus (anybody know a local Montreal dealer? or Canadian o...

Thanks for the advice, Ch0z3n. I guess I'd rather have "more than enough" rather than "just enough" air circulation... and to be honest, I have no idea about itx cases... have to start figuring out which of those might give me what I need. I might just end up with the ridiculously oversized mini P18...

Please nitpick a potential quiet/silent system for me...

Hi folks. Silent/quiet computers has recently become a fascination of mine. The Lenovo they've given me at work has a video card with what must be a 60mm fan that runs (very roughly) at about 12,000 RPM... it sounds something like a Dremel tool. About a year or so ago, I got a new system for Windows...

Please pardon my skepticism, tiesum, but when I see a review as slick as this, I'm very much tempted to ask if you work for Gelid. Particularly after a similar review of the Gelid fans. I'm not saying it shouldn't be here... but if that's the case, at least come out and make the full disclosure. Am ...

FWIW: I finally built my new system, powered by a SeaSonic S12II 380W power supply. It's in a P182, and the PS is completely inaudible to me... I'll have to try running FarCry with the sound off to see if it ramps up... but where's the fun in that? Essentially, with the box sitting on my desk beside...

Thanks for the benefit of experience, folks! I'll give the non-PWM Scythe a go, set at about a medium speed with a FanMate, and if that makes me grumble, I'll give the Arctic Cooler or Kama PWM fans a try. I expect that the S-Flex will be just fine... but hey, if I can't obsess about minor hardware ...

Thanks, Strid. The CPU is an AMD dual core 5400+, and I have no intentions of playing overclocking games with it... no matter how mediocre it is by current standards, it will still be leaps and bounds faster than the Celeron that's in my current Windows box. I'll try the Scythe at moderate speeds th...

Confused over PWM.

Hi folks. I'm very new at the silencing business... got into it when I was shopping for new computer components and wanted to get a video card that didn't sound like a dust-buster at full speed. That led me here (SPCR) and SPCR led me to Antec 182, ThermalRight Ultra 120 Extreme, 8600GT Silent and a...

FYI: My Antec P182 case had bonus 120mm fans.

Hi folks. Took a look through the search engine on the forum, can't see that it's been mentioned much, so here's what just happened to me: Got my brand-spanking-new P182 case the day before yesterday, and in the top were 3x 120mm fans in cases. "Odd," I thought, "I had assumed the 3 fans included wo...

Thanks for constructing and maintaining this site!

I doubt I'll be posting a lot, but after using the SPCR site for a ton of useful information, I thought I'd pass along my thanks. Basically, I'm finding that my Sempron 1.6GHz system was extremely slow in handling the massive RAW files my new dSLR creates, so I had to upgrade at a budget... my budge...
