Ok guys, I did some benchmarks and surface test on the VR. Not sure how well it does perform comparing to the others VR's I guess spikes like these are normal ? I did however try to close as many programs as possible during testing... http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/9738/hdtunebenchmarkwdcwd150ty...

If the drive fails, I think it will fail very soon or not at all. I've had three nasty experiences with hard drives, and in all three cases they either failed within a few weeks or showed no ill effect. One time, I lifted the monitor and the table fell over. The PC was copying over the network at t...

fyi. torx bits have half sizes. not sure about the velocipartor size exaclty.. fwiw. after subjecting the drive to so much vibration, (sawing off a screw) i would run a lot of bench marks and more than just a windows scan. as well as check the smart info. Yes you are right, what programs would you ...

Alright, all works fine 8) I am very surprised the HDD temp for the 150gb VelociRaptor is only 32C, but the 120mm fans runs on full though, I will see how much the temperature will rise when I lower the fanspeed... However, I will need as much margins as possible, cause in the summer it will be warm...

Chewing up a Torx screw is really, really hard to do. Being hard to chew up is the entire point of those screws after all. There are countless ways of removing damaged screws. The easiest for a Torx screw is to use a bit one size too large and hammer it in, widening the hole. You can then unscrew i...

Your business shouldn't be any more urgent to us than any others, no matter what it is. It's very rude to ask for FAST help. Hello, I bought the VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS. It was incredibly loud in the Icepak, so I really hope it will be drastic change without the icepack. I will try to make it fit into the Scythe Quiet Drive 2.5. However...I am trying to remove the ICEPACK, it is very frustrating, I did damage ONE of the s...

Coolermaster 3 to 4 HDD Bay
Yeah I am planning to buy some Samsung 1TB hdds now. I have heard that they are very silent, but they also "vibrate" more then normal disks from what I have heard. So I wonder if there is any kind of solution for the 3-4 HDD Bay which I can use to improve damping/vibration, to minimalize all kinds o...

Just as maf718 wrote, those tech bit numbers are for a whole system not just vid card. Immersion: your system will not brake 450W fully loaded and overclocked. Your PSU will do just fine. Yeah I hope you are right, cause my core i7 system will be very expensive as it is :) Well thanks for your help...

I think the power consumption in that Bit-tech article is for the whole system, so you can't really add them together. I just checked SPCR's review of the Core i7 and the power consumption for a 3.2Ghz i7 with a GTX260 graphics card (which uses more power than a 4850) is 367W for the whole system. ...

Hi, the graphics card will probably take about 40W at idle and only over 100W at full load. I very much doubt your system, even when overclocked, will draw anything like 509W - in my experience these power supply calculaters overestimate the wattage you are going to need. If I had to guess I would ...

I can't say for certain unless you tell me your entire power configuration, but your current power supply should be more than sufficient. My friend's dual-GPU, overclocked E8400 rig only uses 390W peak, so you should have plenty of headroom. If we should assume my calculations above is correct I go...

Power Supply for my new Core I7 system
Today I own a very good power supply, a Seasonic S12 600W which I am very happy with (very silent). However for this new system I have calculated with a calculator (http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine) that my system will use at least 509w when the CPU is overclocked to 3.5 GHZ. At most I h...

Alright guys, I want to thank you for all your responses, it helps a lot. I did not thought it would be this hard to find the the best fan but the reality is that we all have different subjective experiences so it seems like a lot of sites talk against each other. I don't really think that there is only 1 best fan out there. Sorry :) But for instance some fans have better "sound" or noise profile if you will when undervolted but whine when at full blast, and then you others that have good CFM/sound ratio and so on and so on...But unfortunately I don't know o...

Scythe S-Flex SFF21D is my tip, or Noctua NF-S12-1200. Nexus D12SL-12 is also a very, very good fan but if as you say money is no object go for S-Flex. I should also mention Scythe SlipStream. Good air/RPM ratio and a nice price. Any one of above mentioned fans together with decent fan controller/F...

Choose the ultimate fan for my TRUE/Core I7 system
I have been trying for two days now, many hours of browsing I can't still decide what 120mm fan to use to my Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme. Also the main reason why I did create this thread is also that many of the tests and reviews or forum threads I have read is many months old some even a year, ...
