then your cpu usage should not be because of network traffic.

It must then be Software RAID I/O dependent, and maybe if you use FTP transfers with encryption ???

insted of using allot of money on CPU, you could also look into a network card with build in TCP Offloading. That should take allot of the stress from your cpu.

true.....

is it possible to get a 40mm -> 80mm converter, and then throw a 80mm on the outside ??? I know you can get 80->90 and alike... but 40mm -> BIGGER? is that possible.

Hi, im thinking about getting a Qnap TS-639 Pro Turbo NAS (http://qnap.com/pro_detail_hardware.asp?p_id=108). But as you can se from the specs it is 34.1 dB idle w/o disks.... 1) Any one out there done a mod on this thing to make is more silent ??? 2) Any thoughts on what to do to make it silent ? Y...

i to has come to the conclusion that it will be riscy (if not imposible) ... so imo going for the E8400 instead, and just accept that im not getting my 4cores ;) I think i have a better chance of having the E8400 pasive, but just in case, i still have some 120mm nexus in the desk, so i can use on of...

Q9650 fanless cooling ???

Hi,

i am thinking about getting ether a E8400 or a Q9650. I know the thermalright HR-01 plus can keep the E8400 cool, but what about the Q9650 ???

Will i have any problems using the HR-01 plus for this cpu fanless ??
