Dampening External HDD Vibration?
Hi All, I have a Samsung 500GB HD502IJ in an Icy Box IB-390StUS-B enclosure the vibration/resulting humming noise is driving me crazy. I have 4 PCs on in this room and the noise from the external HDD is much louder than all of them, with an annoying "hummm hummm hummm". I've tried putting blu-tac, a...

Received/fit it today, I found the fan noise surprisingly good - by default it spins at 40% which I couldn't hear over a Noctua NF-S12 120mm @ 1200RPM, it remained on 40% after a 2 hour gaming session, so pretty good - by no means silent, but I wouldn't call it noisy either :P. Unfortunately, it als...

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll go with the Asus then since it's the cheapest, and I just read the Gainward is slightly noisier than the reference cooler. Do you know if the Asus card (http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/896MB-Asus-GTX-260-55nm-PCI-E-20(x16)-1998MHz-GDDR3-GPU-576MHz-216-Cores-2x-DL-DV...

Quietest 260 GTX?
Hi All, I've just finished my new build, I'm temporarily using a passive 8400 until I decide which graphics card to get. At the moment I'm very happy with the level of noise the complete system makes, so I really don't want to ruin it, but I need to get a decent graphics card. I want nVidia for CUDA...

Thanks for the reply again, I game usually at 1920x1200 (m/k) or 1920x1080 (controller) so the 4850 may struggle on some of the newer games I'm not quite sure. I'll definitely think about the passive 4850 though. Out of interest, is anyone here running a 4870 with a "Arctic-Cooling Accelero S1 rev.2...

Hi, Thanks for the replies. I only added the 650w because I thought if it was under lower load (%) it was supposed to be quieter, but I'll have a look at those other ones listed if that's not right. I was originally looking at the Corsair 520w but that's the same price as the 650w anyway (although I...

Quiet Build (£800)?
Hi All. Hopefully on Monday I'm buying parts for a new build (it'll be my first build), I'm pretty fussy about noise so I would like to make it as quiet as I can within my budget. I don't really know anything about hardware, so all the bits I've chosen so far are pretty much after reading reviews on...
