I believe there is room for improvement in there deffo.. Some of the mods youve carried out i dont get tho. Alas i am new to silencing and case modding myself but bare with me :) I changed my Antec 300 top exhaust fan for a sharkoon 140mm 900rpm fan which cured some of the vibrating i had and mounte...

Faster rpm isn't the same as more CFM. Which did you originally mean? Doing the "hand test" from a distance of 6 inches, then 3 inches, then 3mm, is about all you can do. Which fan is generating the most air pressure at 6 inches? Which at 3mm? Try it at full speed. Then at slowest speed? How are yo...

Okies after another head scratching moment. its possible to do it think.. Id basically take the middle support legs clean off and get rid of the ridges in the base. *in between the fan at the moment..* Keep the back 2 pivots and bar.. 2 fans side by side and pack the back edge of the fans up on the ...

Re: 40mm 60mm 5v fan recommendations

Not certain I understand your needs. But take a look at the over priced but high quality noiseblocker 40mm and 60mm fans. Also the masscool 60mm sleeve bearing fans from newegg are cheap and seem to handle 5 volts well. They seem pretty high quality actually. The shipping though is probably more th...

Building USB powered fan for desktop only laptop cooling?

Sounds abit bizarre i guess but its a genuine question.. I posted a question about a Zalman NC 1000 cooler on here as it was abit on the loud side for me. Anyway @ £30 i thought it was a tad expensive for what it gave me.. that annoying sound.. So im planning on trying to make a sorta desktop rig. ...

Zalman ZM-NC1000 Notebook cooler noise?

Did a few search's and couldnt find anything to do with cooling a notebook, so thought id ask properly. Had my Acer 5735 Aspire for coming up 12 months in April and so far been really happy with it, apart from a few issues with the hinges that ha started seizing up after 3 months.. Anyway.. I leave ...

Corsair HX620 Replacement

Hi all. I bought a HX620 Corsair PSU some months ago for my first proper pc rig. The PSU seems fine and apart from the slight electrical noise it produces *altho cant be 100% sure its the PSU or Mobo* its worked great. After some recent research ive come to realise that the 620W is WAYYYYY over kill...

I don't have advise for makin it quieter mainly becasue i'm pressed for time right now, but I noticed you weren't sure what the main culprits of sound were. One good (albeit primative) way of finding out which fans are whining is by taking a pencil, eraser side up, and just barely taping the center...

Lots of things i cant recommend on your post sorry but one thing i can is the processor. Ive just upgraded from a P4 2.4 ghz to a E8400 dual core and the performance is just amazing. The extra for the E8500 for me wasnt justifiable as it was 0.1ghz faster and i also found that if speed was my thing ...
