If I cut the top cover is it possible to replace the fan with a PC fan? Note that PC fan blows vertically in contrast with the original PS3 fan which blows from the sides, so will the flow provide adequate cooling to the CPU and chipsets? PS: If I post to the wrong section of the forum, moderator pl...

PS3 slim silencing possible?

Everyone knows PS3's excellent HTPC capabilities, but not everything is perfect.

The PS3 slim model I bought makes an annoying loud high pitched noise.
So, is there any way to make it quieter?
Has anyone succesfully made it quieter?

Thanks in advance,
Jadas.

Your hardware config with Sileo will be well served by two Nexus fan, cooling this puppy will not be a problem  Is the reduced number of paths for noise to escape enough to overcome the additional noise ...

But because placing fans in the middle is almost impossible in a prebuilt case, do you have any other suggestion ?

Have anyone tried to built a silent PC with a lot of case fans ?

About new members posting URLs

New users should be allowed to post urls, the three posts limit is kinda annoying. Makes it harder to write a good message.
