Re: Sapphire HD 7750 Ultimate Edition

I'm interested in this card for use with CS5, primarily for Photoshop and Premier. How well does this card perform for large file photo editing and video processing? I currently have an XFX 6850 and the fan noise is driving me crazy... Looking to go ultra quiet..

Sorry for hijacking this thread.

I'm looking to build a similar system. I plan on using an Intel i3 with the Zotac H55ITX-A-E. Are there any drawbacks between using either the Antec ISK 300-150 or the Antec ISK 300-65?

Re: compared to Zotac GeForce 8200-ITX WiFi

I'm leaning to the Zotac GeForce 8200-ITX WiFi but I want to see if I am losing out on anything (especially since the Zotac GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi was given the editor's nod and the Zotac GeForce 8200-ITX WiFi was not). The awards were introduced only a couple months ago; the 8200-ITX would have got...

compared to Zotac GeForce 8200-ITX WiFi

Hi, I've been looking at a number of reviews, including the ones done here for the Zotac GeForce 8200-ITX WiFi and Zotac GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi. Since the Zotac GeForce 8200-ITX WiFi was done a while ago, I'm assuming that the HD playback issues have been resolved. With that said, does anyone know of...

My build: I chose the D-E flavour, which has the dual-core Atom CPU and wireless, but uses normal ATX power, as I already have a Pico PSU, which is plenty efficient. The system is comprised of: Zotac IONITX-D-E motherboard, 2GB Corsair DDR2 stick, 1TB WD Greenpower 3.5" hard drive for video, 500GB ...

How to quietly cool my ATI Radeon X800

Hi, Moving my question from another thread to this section: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=55571 I'm looking to passively cool my ATI Radeon x800 (or use a very quiet fan). I was thinking of using an Accelero S2, but after seeing it in the store, I realized that it is too big f...

Passive VGA Cooler for ATI Radeon X800

Hi, I'm looking to cool my Radeon X800. I'm not an active gamer, so I think passively cooling it should be enough. I'm thinking the Accelero S2 ( http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2_&mID=106 ), but I'm a DIYer by heart. Does anyon have any DIY suggestions or any other alte...

Is there a benefit between using a PCI tuner or a USB one? Would I run into issues using a USB tuner on Linux? I remember reading posts on the Mythtv mailing list, using 4 ATSC tuners on a single (powered) USB 2 hub, with multirec (with a least 2 recordings _per_ tuner). Worked fine, don't worry ab...

My Myth box runs on a Zotac IONITX board, with dual core atom CPU and GF9300 chipset. It's able to decode and scale 1080i video easily. I can heartily recommend the GF9300 based boards - I'm running a Zotac GF9300 core duo board in my desktop as well under Linux (ubuntu). Really good chipset, with ...

Re: New HTPC Machine (preferable for Linux)

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve on either setup. I would certainly take some larger HDD for starters, and if you end up with either of those Antec cases, I guess 3.5" drive would be easier to install. And regarding the CPU+motherboard combination, I would still consider also I...

New HTPC Machine (preferable for Linux)

Hi, I am looking to replace my Xbox (running XBMC), with an HTPC. I will be using this primarly as a thin client to watch DVDs (BluRay eventually once the prices go down), and stream HD video from a server. Reading through the forum, I've been playing around with the following specifications: Setup ...
