I don't think this CPU has Speedstep, so I could see the laptop using maybe as high as 35W-AC at idle. That is worst case, though. Could be as good as 20W. My 1.7GHz Pentium M draws 12W with the screen off, but Speedstep makes a big difference. An external 3.5" drive is going to run you 10-15W-AC. ...

I just picked up a ATI HD 4350 video card. I forgot to snap a photo before I closed the case up. So just imagine this video card in the PCIe slot of the picture above.

What cpu are you running? looks like integrated graphics as well? Try replacing your stock cooler, for something a bit beefier for better temps and noise :) Also cable management is very important if you care about airflow / turbulence inside your case :) I am running an undervolted AMD Athlon II X...

My Quiet Computer

Here is my set up. http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/9400/005iaw.jpg There are two fans. The stock CPU fan and the PSU fan are running at 5v (using wire adapters, nice and cheap. I don't need to pay for a fan controller, a waste of money). The 3.5" HDD is a WD 1.5TB Green, runs cool so it doesn't nee...

there must be thousands of cpu coolers out there, they all are pretty much 90% alike. why won't these manufactures put out something new? i wonder why we keep buying new coolers for new cpu's everytime, motherboard manufactures should just stick with one cpu rentention system so cpu coolers can be r...

Is there a way to make a fan run at less than 5v?

I ran an alternate power cable to my power supply fan. I connected the other end to a molex plug with the plugs reversed so the fan would be fed 5v. Turns out that did not make the fan any quieter but louder. The fan was temperature controlled and was already running at an even lower voltage, now I ...

That's a very nice case. I've been wanting it since the summer. Unfortunately it took too long and I found a nice deal for a black ATCS 840 (110€ new). Antec really hasn't made a good lookin case since p182 and even that is made from plastic (which I can't stand). Thanks for the review, btw! Bett...

How can I get my old computer to recognize a new modem? I recently had my modem replaced. I would like the case to be as small as possible. A plain bezel would be a plus but not necessary. Cheap/good value is a plus too but I can spend the money if it is worthwhile (but I don't have a habit of spending big money on computer cases). The Antec case looks good but it is too large. I would h...

Recommend me a CPU cooler

I have a AMD Athlon II X3 425 CPU.

I would like a CPU cooler that is QUIET and CHEAP. it would be a plus if it can cool the CPU well but heat is not a big concern. My budget is $10 to $30 but I would prefer to spend around $20. I am located in Toronto, Canada.
