Sadly it's normal. My mobo (IP35Pro) intermittently squeals when I overclock my q9550 to 3.4GHz. Drove me nuts when I first discovered because I never noticed it before and I thought it was my videocard. I downclocked it to stock frequency and all is good now. As much as I'd like a faster CPU, I wo...

The lowest I've gotten my i5 on stock speeds is 1.150v. Is this allright? I know it's not great but it seems a quite a bit for a 45nm chip. I can run 3.8ghz stable on 1.275 but for 4ghz I need about 1.4 which also seems a bit unusual.

I have a P55A-UD3 and something makes a sort of buzzing noise when under full load (Prime95 for example). Not sure if this effects the running or stability of the system at all though. It's not a loud or annoying sound but it's really worrying me as I don't want my system to break in time as I'm pla...

Capacitors on motherboard hiss/buzz.

I recently got a new system, an i5 750, 4gb of XMS3 and a Gigabyte P55A-UD3 motherboard. The system runs great, stable and everything, but under heavy load at higher clocks, something around the CPU area (I'm guessing the VRM) makes a buzzing/hissing sound. It's not particularly loud but it worries ...
