dropping it in the start up folder didnt work, i tried the task scheduler and after windows logged the fans did slow down but for only 10 seconds. any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

any idea on how i can get speedfan to start up with windows. when i turn on the computer the fans are spinning at top speed and i have to open the speedfan program manually

well i installed the speedfan and configured it with great success, thank you so much. i found the happy place where i just started to hear the sound and set it there 35-50% case runs cool so i havent seen it above 30% or 700 rpm's yet @36c. i was also able to set the fans to temp thresholds 40-77c ...

im trying to keep total cost under 100$ so the ssd is probably not an option i found 2gig ram sticks for around 25-30$ and ill have to wait for a sale on a decent 5400 hard drive. any ideas on this? reviews were not so great on the write portion http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16...

when i built my new silent rig i decided to reuse the sound card. problem is i only get sound for a few days then nothing. if i reinstall drivers i get sound again for a few days then nothing. last time this happened i installed danielk drivers and it lasted like a month but now, nothing. any ideas?

yes temps are good. but if you dont mind a little noise in the case there is something to be said about amd's stock heatsink. especially if you just change out the fan for a quieter operation. its small, has 4 soldered heat pipes and all but the fins are copper. nice job amd, now lets get a fan that...

thanks for the above answer. that explains it. ok so i went ahead and installed a scythe kabuto and im very pleased about how quiet this is. at 39c rpm is 1123, very very quiet. i am surprised though that the cpu temp has not dropped at all. it fluctuates from 32c to 40c under windows 7 just like th...

as far as silence goes what would be the best 120mm pwm type fan for use on a asus qfan motherboard. this would be for cpu cooling matched with a Prolimatech Megahalems type heatsink. it seams all the recommended fans are non pwm.
