Re: Cost-effective sound dampening material

It's mostly to shore up the side panel facing me. It bows out just a bit and and if I press down on it, it changes the noise characteristic coming from the case. Might this be vibration or just the way the side panel interacts with the air cavity inside the case?

Cost-effective sound dampening material

Hey guys, I'm looking to find some low-cost sound dampening material to deaden up the vibrations in my ATCS 840's side panels. Amazing case but the side panels are a little flimsy and can bow out a bit sometimes. I was looking at this on Amazon which I think would work well if I layered it on the ma...

Re: Silverstone TJ-07 Case with window for sale!

Hey, I've got a trade offer if you might be interested. What would you say to a case trade? My Antec P183 with 3 Noiseblocker Multiframes (750rpm models), 1 Noctua S12- ULN, and another Noiseblocker (120mm, 900rpm, non-rubber frame model), and a multi-fan port with different voltages for your case? ...

[FS/FT] Antec P183 plus Quiet Fans & Fan Port for sale!

Having fallen on hard financial times I seek to bank some cash by selling my prized P183 with three Noiseblocker Multiframes (750rpm) and one Noctua ULN fan and a multi-fan port near the front attached and use my spare computer case. P183 Front Fan Mounts

Hey guys, Have any of you tried using any of those 140mm fans with the 120mm mounting holes on the front intakes of a P183? I'm shopping around for fans and am intrigued by the idea. Not able to measure the front mounts currently though, first thought is there wouldn't be enough room for the enlarge...

I actually ordered one from Frozen CPU a few days ago.

Though I don't have any measuring equipment I have the means to subjectively judge the fan (Open air and behind the dust filter of my P183) at 12v, 7v, and 5v and see how it sounds at those levels.

I'll let you guys know once I have the fan.

P183 Top Fan Recommendation

Hey guys, So in the process of fiddling with different fan options in my P183, I've decided that a low speed fan in the top would help aid the escape of naturally rising hot air. Originally I was going to get a 500rpm Scythe Gentle Typhoon fan for the slot but another user said they had issues getti...

Great suggestions all-around.

Question for you though Antec-Rep, would that fan cover you showed me fit the top vent of the P183 properly?

Also, where might I get a piece of bitumen?

Blocking my P183's Top Vent

Hey guys, So in my recent quest to silence my computer I got a P183 (Quite the snazzy case) and with the Megahalem & 750rpm Noiseblocker fans the noise level is great, however I'd like to block the top vent off since it seems like it's another vector for noise to escape and I don't intend on using i...

Hmm, my case is a CM 690II advanced which when I get to doing all the stuff I want to do with my silencing project (still about a month or so off) it'll have adequate ventilation. Two top S-Flex's, a rear exhaust S-Flex, and three intake S-Flex's (two bottom, one front) All of which will be connecte...

Pushing air through a Prolimatech Megahalem towards the rear of the case. From what I had gleaned through research (and please correct me if I'm wrong) I figured a single 120x38mm fan pushing air through whilst undervolted would provide optimum cooling due to the high static pressure at an acceptabl...

Perfect (relatively speaking) 120x38 Heatsink Fan

Hey guys, Looking for a good 120x38mm Heatsink fan for some upcoming upgrades I plan to make and initially I had settled for the San Ace 101 from Newark which should work dandy but! They don't come with a connector already attached (3-pin). Is this hard to get or do? Otherwise, what else might you g...

Cart of Upcoming Silent-Friendly Parts/Plan

Hey guys, I've recently embarked upon the task of quieting my pc and after doing research and looking around I think I've come up with what I need. The case I have now would be the CM 690 II Advanced. I plan on replacing the stock fans and adding more with Scythe S-Flex E models. 1 on the rear exhau...

Quiet/Reliable 120mm & 140mm fan advice

Hello, I've recently taken up the task of lowering the noise level my computer and the first thing to replace are the case fans. Which aren't too bad but there's room for improvement. I figure on going with the Scythe S-Flex 1200rpm model of fan, I've read good things about it and it seems the conse...
