Hey; I'm not sure about the solo but my P183 has more than enough air from the front intake with the door closed and that is using a scythe 1200 slip stream at 640 - 680 rpm. The noise does increase somewhat with the door open however. Cool air will generally find its way into a case where the more ...

Good value Tower AM2 CPU cooler
Hi Guys,
Anyone know of a good value Tower CPU cooler for AM2 that can be turned 90% so its in east/west configuration? Not really interested in spending too much.
Cheers,

the nf-p12 is designed for use on cpu coolers and such, so you'll probably want a case fan in the bottom power supply compartment... something at 600rpm or less would be ideal, because it's quiet. rather than stacking the 2x slipstreams, you can mount one of 'em on a bay coverter up top, i used a l...

There isn't much point in discussing cooling solutions until there is some sort of definition of the cooling load. Really. One needs to know the hardware, applications and ambient temperature range the PC will be in to have some idea of what the thermal loads will be. Otherwise the exercise is rath...

I'm running an AM socket and the fans can only face up and down with the Noctua NH-U12P standard AM2,+,3 configuration.

What you have done is all logical. It's close to what I probably would have done, though maybe I would have used two NF-P12s on the cooler and two NF-S12B fans on the case. But logic only gets you so far. Now you have to experiment. No one can fully predict what you will find. I bet you will pick u...

Yeah the Noctua NF-P12 is a lot better of CPU cooling because of the static pressure. The static pressure of the NF-P12 @ 900 rpm is 1.21 mmH2O as apposed to the NF-S12B which is 0.76. Use the NF-S12B only as case fans if there is unrestricted airflow (i.e open spaces or direct/unrestricted venting ...

Fan rubber surrounds
Hi guys, Been wondering what that rubber stuff that you see surrounding some case fans is. Most of the time it looks like the rear fan covers have been cut out and the fan is directly venting out the case. I heard "edging" mentioned somewhere but I can't seem to find any here in NZ so a brand name w...

Thanks guys. This is the sort of answers I was looking for and I realize my specific case wasn't explained better (it was 3am in the morning here) Basically I was wondering if there was nothing impeding the fan pointed to the rear exhaust fan should I use a fan with better Air flow vs Less Static pr...

Air flow vs static pressure for pushing and pulling
Basically I would like to know if static pressure is better for pushing or pulling and is air flow better for pushing or pulling. I have a Noctua cpu cooler and wondering if I should use a static pressure fan to push or pull and the other end use a decent air flow fan to push or pull. Or should I ju...
