Re: Is Corsair AX850 going to be enough..?

Get a Raven 2 /Fortress 2 ?
I just mounted my system with GTX 470 into it and so far stock fermi fan seems to be running around 5% slower which translates into 400-500 rpm less compared to my previous Tsunami with side panel completly removed.

Re: Quiet case for dusty area

JamieG, I do have these filters fitted. They do help but the HAF case is literally full of holes and no good for a garage. quest_for_silence, I will think about the Silverstone Raven RV02-E then. How is that for noise? Raven 2 sounds like a bad idea for very dusty place as it has huge amount of top...

Re: Sandy Bridge Gaming Rig - Please comment

Call of Duty: Black Ops should definitely run smoothly on a Radeon 5850 at 2560x1600 with 4xAA. I concur that you should try out the 5850 in a Sandy Bridge environment first. Crossfire with Dual Shamans would be badass, though! :) Mind you, that's an EIGHT slot solution, so you'll need a case with ...

You can use lower PCI-ex x4 slot for tuner without any problems. Also for this mobo main PEG slot is the lower blue one which will work in x16 mode when you insert into grey one special pcb provided by asus http://images.anandtech.com/reviews/motherboards/2010/ASUS%20M4A89GTD%20Pro/switch-card.jpg S...

oh, additionally I read that the corsair power supplies haven't been considered SPCR material, however I have to say I don't hear mine at all, to me it's as quiet as the antec CP-850 I have in the other gaming machine I built. Not true. All the Corsairs built by Seasonic are just as quiet if not qu...

3) I don't understand your RAM question/comment -- again, it's what we had on hand that works well. "High performance" memory with high voltage requirements are such a PITA to work with. So many motherboards simply cannot post with such RAM, never mind run well. I meant why you used 1066 ram runnin...

Hmm interesting choice of components First why AMD cpu? I5 750/760 runs cooler and will be faster after oc Second - why OCZ fake low voltage memory (1,65V) when on newegg gskill ecos sell for less than 50$ and they run @1333 cl9 with 1,35V http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231...

Any good desktop/cube cases for 200W GPU ?

Are there any desktop cases that could provide adequate cooling for GTX 470 (225W tdp) and with enough space to fit it together with accelero extreme (meaning 12,1" legth).

And with uATX or ATX size for mobo as i need something with pci-ex x1 for Xonar.

Re: Zalman not giving up on the "flower" heatsinks

Pricing situation might be diffrent in diffrent countries:

NH-14 or Silver Arrow is 300 PLN

CNPS-10X is in 190-220 range for Quiet/extreme

So i guess it makes it happy middle ground for me.

I have used X6 1055T and GTX 470 for few days with 450W Chieftec GPS PSU (rebranded delta) and it was fine (altrough voltage drop was getting near to atx norm)

Re: Zalman not giving up on the "flower" heatsinks

If I want value... I take CoolerMaster. Zalmans are not on the cheap side, nor the quality side. I had orginal Al-cu 7000 and now CNPS-10X quiet both had very good quality and price worth the performance you were getting (especially if you factor in STG-2 bundled to every CNPS). And unlike Scythe t...

Raven 2 / Fortress 2 vs aftermarket GPU coolers

I'm planning to buy one of silverstone cases with the rotated mobo design but thinking about it actually made me wonder about how does having GPU in vertical position work against GPU coolers. If we look at most aftermarket GPU coolers (zalman 3000 VF, accelero extreme, etc) they all have heatpipes ...

As well, if the volume does not rise up in the market, then the ...

180mm silverstone fans in R2/F2 power consumption?

Does anyone know what's the rated (or measured) power of fans in Raven 2 or Fortress 2 cases ? Specification on seasonic website shows only: 3 x 180mm intake fan 700/1000rpm, 18/27dBA They have 4 types of fans on website but neither matches this description: FN181-BL - obviosuly not as this one is t...

There is a Noctua NF-S12B FLX 120mm Fan. But that doesn't work well on heatsinks. It doesn't work well with the type of high ...
