Re: Color choice for cables, need your vote/opinion

You need more depth of field, and maybe another spot to eliminate shadows. Other than that, nice pic. Maybe could use a little more color contrast. The equipment being used is semi-pro, but I’m no pro with a camera and would take a class on the subject if I thought it would help. Color contrast is ...

Finished cables arrived, thanks again for the help/votes in helping me decide on what color scheme to go with. I'm quite pleased with the results:

That’s lovely. Quite compact with contemporary design that would match many home theater setups. Personally, I'd prefer mine to have a flat top to serve as temporary shelf for movies cases, remotes and such. Anyways, impressive custom case design. I hope you've filled the stand with a non-resonant material other than common play sand. http://www.starsoundtechnologies.com/micro.html That looks like some crazy high tech sand. I like it! Yes, but single braided cables would be tidier, regardless of if they're custom made or not. Unifying everything together in bundles that go to the same location is obvious. The only reason ever to separate things is if they are going to different locations or are likely to interfere with each othe...

Re: Color choice for cables, need your vote/opinion

I definitely like the effort that has gone in here but I am not a fan of individually sleeved cables as they remove any performance advantage that there is in sleeving cables up in the first place to improve airflow and tidyness. That's got to be about 1.2m of cabling and by that point I would also...

Howdy! I'm working on a new computer build and I'm on the final stages. I'm trying to decide if blue accents are best look for the cables or all black. On right side is black (the SATA data breakout cable from raid controller to SSDs), which is sleek and sort of fades into the case. The blue cables ...

Re: TNN 500AF + SSD + 6 monitors

I couldn’t source the proprietary 2-pin connector anywhere so I sent Martin of PsychoSleeve the 24-pin cable of the TNN-500AF so that he could see how it was wired. He then recreated the same wiring and reused the 2-pin connector of the old cable on a fresh cable build. These cables arrive today so ...

Re: Fanless i5-680 system in Zalman's TNN500AF case w/ pics

Btw, I discovered that using a new PSU with your TNN-500AF will cause you to lose the handy ability of turning on your system by using the remote because the infrared sensor of the case must receive constant power from a 2-pin cable that branches from the 24-pin cable of your PSU. This 2-pin connect...

Sorry for not responding sooner about PSU of TNN-500AF. The PSU of my TNN-500AF recently failed as well so I totally gutted it and I decided on an external PSU solution. It literally made a popping sound when I tried to turn it on one day, so I decided it was time for a new build. That really was my...

Ha, that’s one tiny PSU (the PICOPSU-150-XT). Nice solution you came up with, and I’m sure it looks seamless with the case closed. Unfortunately, I’ll definitely need more than a 150W PSU and wouldn’t want to downgrade from the case’s original 400W PSU, not for a multi-display workstation/gaming bui...

Re: upgrade/ modify my TNN500AF, or go with something new?

Zalman's TNN500AF case should be compatible with Intel's 1155 slot. I say this because my TNN500AF build is with 1156 slot and 1155 and 1156 are exactly identical cooling mounting holes, just one pin missing for CPU. My build: http://www.neo-geo.com/personal/i5-fanless/build.html 400W PSU is plenty ...

The upper support clip has enough flexibility to be physically stretched so that the holes do line up. However, the matching back plate cannot be stretched so it cannot be used. Ins...

silent power supply for TNN500AF

SilverStone's ST40NF 400W power supply looks like the best and most modern silent PSU on the market. It looks nice, although your project seems mainly to just have used that "super&special case" (or am I missing something?)
