Re: Dell Ultrasharp Monitors. . . Buzzing?

U2412M here too, about 10 months old, I don't hear anything at all, running 38% brightness and 75% contrast.

Very nice build. Good job on solving that MSI Cyclone room issue ;-)
And thanks so much for posting these pictures.

Re: Does Powercolor HD6850 fit into Antec Fusion?

Update: I've done some checking myself, and it certainly will not fit. Its not the length of the card, but the height that is the problem. The cooling body of the Powercolor wraps AROUND the 'upper' side of the card, making it totally unsuitable for the Antec Fusion. http://c3.yousaytoo.com/rss_temp...

Re: Antec Fusion/NSK2400 build Help

I think you can safely forget about that Powercolor card fitting in that case. Its the height.

In retrospect, for this reason I now wish I had bought a little larger case (with good airflow). Big silent bastards like that powercolor simply don't fit in ;-)

Does Powercolor HD6850 fit into Antec Fusion?

Hi all! About a year ago I built a silent PC, with ur guys help. Antec Fusion = great! At the time, I went for a humble Asus EAH5570 videocard. It is -allright-, but when gaming, it surely is the bottleneck. So i started to look for an affordable GPU upgrade, and found this one: http://www.powercolo...

How about a simple Nexus value 430? The reviews here @ SPCR are excellent: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article922-page5.html As you can see in the link above, noise production at 1m and at full power is 19Db. That is probably less than any case or cpu fan you might have. It costs about a third, th...

Acer laptops do indeed come out #1 when looking at specs only. My experience however is that case build quality is something to pay attention to, and Acer is not known for its life-long-lasting titanium laptops. Go to the shop and touch the thing. Ask around for user reviews of its predecessors or s...

Thank you, the rev B is easily attainable in the Netherlands. I guess I should hurry a little. Now if I read the SPCR review correctly, http://www.silentpcreview.com/article754-page4.html then they have replaced the ninja scythe stock fan with a Nexus 80mm "Real Silent Case Fan" (SP802512L-03). I se...

Ha fellow dutchman ;-)

That Mugen 2 looks indeed real nice (I read the SPCR review), but would it fit in an Antec Fusion Remote? That case is 147mm high. The specs for Mugen 2: 130 x 100 x 158 mm. If 158 is the height, then it won't fit.

Cooling an AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black

Hi, For a quiet pc (all other components are <20 decibel), I plan to put a Scythe ninja mini rev b (easily available where I live) on it, and replace the fan that comes with it with a NEXUS REAL SILENT CASE FAN DF1209SL-3. The stock fan coming with the ninja makes 28DB @ 12v, the nexus only 21. -is ...

Yes indeed the HDD speed is not very important to me. I will then switch to Samsung EcoGreen F3 HD105SI, 1TB @ 5400RPM. Thanks for noticing :D Points of concern left now are: -case cooling (are the Scythe Slip Streams a good choice) and -PSU in the case of Antec Fusion remote 0W. I got recommended b...

Thanks again, both! DjKest: I switched to an i5 cpu/mobo combo. Budget has increased to include an SSD on top of the 1TB samsung. Additionally, I upgraded video to a 5570: more performance, less heat generated. Loimlo, I will switch to the 1156-ready Scythe Samurai ZZ you recommended, thanks for the...

I plan to get one within the next 6 months. Right now the 80GB ones are kind of available @ my budget, but I would like to see at least double that capacity for that price (around 210 dollars -rough estimate): 160GB is what I'd call a fancy 'main' disk to install all my programs (including games). I...

Ha DjKest thanks for your time! I really appreciate it . TLDR: Anyway, you should still look at the i5-750 or perhaps an i3 with dual core and hyper threading. I believe the Intel CPUs are superior right now, unless you want to save a few bucks. Check it: x4 Phenoms are 125W thermal envelope, i5-750...

Tweaking my shopping list for for the Antec Fusion Remote

Hi everybody, I've spent a few evenings review-reading and forum-lurking as I want to buy a new PC, which obviously must not make a lot of noise ;-) I already talked to several people and had some advices here and there, and I thought I'd turn here for another proper check with an emphasis on coolin...
