Re: 1000VA - 1500VA Silent UPS 2016 Update?

This concerns me as well as my old and trusty 7-year old APC Backu Ups RS 800 (240V model) has started clicking after I upgraded to GTX 1080. I have a fairly new battery as well (c. 1 year old) so I doubt that is the issue. Something is wrong and the UPS keeps clicking (not switching between line-in...

Only +20% - 30% faster than GTX1080 (OCed or default clocks) at 1440p or 4K. Re: Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3: BIG, heavy, quiet & effective

Thanks for the tips! I have been surfing all over the place and it still seems that the old Phanteks PH-TC14PE with Corsair AR1400 Quiet Edition fans beats even Noctua D15 and all the other new killer coolers (regardless of fans) for both cooling and noise. That is, with same fans, low or high, it p...

First initial reviews don't pair it quite up to the level of Noctua NH-D15 and others (in max cooling, with stock fan at high): http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?289285-Scythe-Mugen-Max In the same test, it doesn't appear to be any quieter (could be even more, hard to say what is th...

Re: FrostyTech best CPU coolers : graphed temp vs noise (8-2

I completely agree on the methodology and of course dB(A) != sone. However, this can give a rough ballpark figure on the cooling efficiency of the heatsink with the stock fans (at certain airlow). Now, if the results are +/-6dB(A) then it very very likely is louder/quieter. If it's +/-10dB(A) then t...

FrostyTech best CPU coolers : graphed temp vs noise (8-2014)

Trying to make sense of the FrostyTech cooler rankings, I did the following plot today. Perhaps it is of use to someone. My apologies for the bad graphing. I'm looking for a Haswell-ready power supply that does not have a strong smell. I have a lot of allergies, and the smell of the new power supply I bought gives me a headache. It isn't a burning smell like the power supply is overheating. It is a smell from the materials the power supply is made of....

Thanks for the heads up.

I'll report back when I've installed them as to how well they work.

Check also TechPowerUp measurements: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/Radeon_HD_6850_Direct_Cu/27.html The Asus 6850 card has non-standard cooling and is less noisy compared to the standard cooling (on HIS cards). 28dB(A)/38dB(A) is by no means silent, but perhaps tolerable to some for that k...
