Re: Is this as silent as SG03 goes?

Unless I have misunderstood, if your computer is already silent then you can't get any quieter than that. :? Silence is the absence of any sound. I was under the impression that silent isn't necessary 100% noiseless by definition, but I may very well be wrong. Finnish-English dictionary that I chec...

I don't think it should be that hard to design a roughly 30-liter case with reasonable sound dampening yet also decent airflow. Kind of like a bit more rugged NSK3480/TJ08 with added inner bitumen coating or such. You'd think there'd be enough of a market for a case like that these days for someone ...

I guess the small option is supposed to be mini-ITX? Anyway, it's a tricky question for me. Technically the smaller the better, but yet said smaller does lose a feature or two usually. But... overall I guess I'd still say ITX :P Which is wonky, since previous case was ITX, while current case is mATX...

Is this as silent as SG03 goes?

I mentioned my SG03 build in another thread. But here's a dedicated one. Been discussing this over at HardOCP's SFF forum, but the good folks over there aren't that much into extreme silence, so I'll try my luck here too. My setup: - Silverstone SG03B - Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 - Intel i5 750 - Prolimat...

See what I mean: Hehe, now that's a monster cooler. By the way, do you know if the silver part of front can be detached? I'm thinking for painting it, mostly, the silver faceplate is a bit of an eyesore for me in an otherwise black case. In case my SG03 doesn't live up to my plans... having to put ...

I can't really speak from personal experience since I haven't personally used either case, but from all I've read and seen, I'd rather go with the Define R3. It is noticeably more expensive than the 300, though. But to me it seems more stylish, and has probably better noise insulation. The 300 defin...

Mostly a rather old thread, but I really do agree with the OP. I had a fan outside of a case, and it was essentially silent. Slapped a fan guard on it... sheesh, not even a hint of silent operation anymore. Gah! It's also evident when you have a setup laying on your desk instead of stuffed inside a ...

Personally I can't wait to see some reviews of the new ASRock Vision nettop, but with Nehalem laptop components, slot-in Blu-ray and whathaveyou, I'm afraid it'll at least equal that Solidlogic setup in price :( Which is too bad, since unless they somehow managed to make it noisy, it'd be my dream H...

This really seems like the kind of PSU I've been looking for. Basically, my current build is based on a Silverstone SG03B case, and I'm trying to get it as silent as I can (long-winded retrospective build log and ramblings about the PSU etc can be found in HardOCP's SFF forum in the odd chance that ...
