Re: GTX 660 Ti Reviews
The percentages refer to the fan PWM duty cycle, so it depends on the fans not the particular graphics chip. So figures of 10% or 30% duty cycle do not mean much without knowing what rpm the fans run at at that setting. It would help if reviewers who commonly show GPU-Z screen shots would include s...

Re: GTX 660 Ti Reviews
I'm a bit confused - I had a Gainward GTX 560 "Phantom" which IIRC could only go down to 30% fan speed. But in a review of a GTX 660 I read something about 10% and 20% fan speed. So is it now possible to go lower than 30% on the new 660 series?

Thanks!mkk wrote:Fan Xpert 2 needs the board to have a more expensive fan controller for each header, so it's only for the pricier models. Fan headers that are dumb +12V connectors cannot be controlled by anything as they don't even have voltage regulation.

Re: Anyone willing to post screenshots of FanXpert +?
Can you use FanXpert 2 on, say, a P8Z77-M? What I mean is, is it just a question of the right software or are you stuck with FanXpert+ on that mb?

I can't really hear it changing under load. It's like 30C @ idle and 60C @ load. Great card!

Re: Which GTX560 Ti is the most quiet?
I now finally have my new card! For budget reasons I chose the Gainward GTX 560 "Phantom". And let me tell you - it's SILENT at idle! There's no difference from my old passive 9600GT to this new card. Awesome! I'm off to actually try some games now and see how it behaves under load. :) EDIT: I've ha...

Re: Which GTX560 Ti is the most quiet?
So what are your impressions? I'm considering one of these two cards myself: Gainward GeForce GTX 560 Ti Phantom 1GB MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB Hawk Any idea wich one is the quietest? I won't be getting the new card for a while yet, so I don't have any impressions just yet. But I've heard the Hawk ...

Re: Which GTX560 Ti is the most quiet?
Oh, I just realized I was looking at the 2gb version of the Gainward Phantom. The 1 gb is not that much more expensive, so I'll probably end up getting that! Thanks everyone.
I'll update this thread with my impressions once everything is in place (might take a few weeks).

Re: Which GTX560 Ti is the most quiet?
The Gainward Phantom GTX 560TI is the quietest. Not currently sold in North America, but as you live in Europe you are in luck http://www.proshop.dk/Grafikkort/Gainward-GeForce-GTX-560-Ti-Phantom-2244193.html . Thanks for the suggestion! It's quite a bit more expensive than the MSI (and the like) t...

Which GTX560 Ti is the most quiet?
I'm building a new PC ASAP. I need to upgrade my passive 9600GT to something more modern. But now I'm accustomed to the whole silent PC thing and I'd like to keep it that way. :) So which GTX560 Ti is the most quiet (or can be made quiet with modded BIOS or such)? I've been looking at the MSI Twin F...

Sorry for the bad quality, but my PC is up against a wall, so there's almost no space and light. Hopefully you can see the concept anyway. The drive doesn't touch the sides and the (vibration) noise is gone.

Re: Antec Solo or Define R3?
I got the Define R3 and I'm very satisfied. It's possible to suspend the harddrives as well, so all in all I'm a happy camper.
I ended up getting the black version because it was the cheapest, and it looks great.

Re: silent pc with Define R3 vs silent system with Define Mi
I have the Define R3 and even though it's a bit tight, there is enough room to suspend a normal 3,5" harddrive horizontally.

Re: suspension of HDD on Define R3
3,5" drive suspension is a bit tight, but perfectly doable. I'll snap some pics later for you. I've only done it to one of my two drives, but I'll probably do the other one as well some day. I just bought some elastic band-stuff for like 3 bucks.

Now I just have a luxury problem: Which color to get?! I really like the Titanium Grey, but I saw the all black one on youtube and it looks quite nice as well... so many choices, sigh.

Re: Antec Solo or Define R3?
Thanks for the replies! I'm now 99% sure I want the Define R3. Specs are: - Intel Q6600 @ stock speed - Thermalright Ultima-90 cooler w/ Scythe S-Flex fan - Nvidia 9600 GT passive - Corsair VX450W (I also have a HX520W, but I think I damaged the fan by vacuuming it...) - 1 tb Samsung drive (7200 rpm...

Antec Solo or Define R3?
I've gotten my PC to be pretty quiet after some work. But I'm still using an antique Chieftec Dragon case... So I would very much like to upgrade to a better silent case. So in my budget range I've found two serious contenders - Antec Solo and Fractal Designs Define R3. What I like about the Antec i...
