Re: Inwin Chopin : Noisy PSU

I'm sorry I don't have any particular feeling in regards the fan direction, but I'm curious if you have tried replacing the stock fan yet.

Re: Corsair RM550x $50(after MIR) @ NewEgg thru 8/20

For what it's worth, I purchased this model earlier this year and received the rebate in decent time (3-4 weeks IIRC). The system set up for rebates was well done.

Re: Scythe Kotetsu CPU Cooler: A Compact King

Good news, Seems the Kotetsu is reaching the US market. Bad news, Seems the retailer is trying to take the advantage of being the only reseller atm and jacking up the price to absurd levels. Scythe SCKTT-1000 Kotetsu GlideStream 120 PWM 400 RPM CPU Cooling Hopes Scythe USA, bring some soon and sell...

Re: Noctua NH-D15: Updating an Icon

Thanks for the review Lawrence, Interesting that with one fan the cooler the Kosetu wrecks it, and with two fans still the Genesis outperforms it. Would be interesting if at some point you guys can test the new Silver Arrow IBE to see if gets wrecked (crossing my fingers it doesnt =) ) It is intere...

Re: Puget Systems Test Bench EATX V1 DIY Kit

I'm assuming that it is a typo, but it's currently listed at $1109.37 at Puget Systems http://www.pugetsystems.com/store/item. ... d8cd9&que= The $175 listed in the review seems a little more reasonable...

Re: Scythe Kotetsu CPU Cooler: A Compact King

Is there any estimation as to what heat output these results these would scale up to? I realize that most who are into silent computing probably don't overclock heavily, but it would seem at some point the cooling efficiency between heat sinks could change. It is still amazing that such a relatively...

Re: Thermalright HR-22 CPU Heatsink

I often wonder if the heatsinks put out by these companies to run without a fan are done so assuming a non maximum load. By that I mean what most would consider "normal computing", without periods of high cpu usage that run minutes long. I know that this is far from the worse case scenario, and test...

Re: Scythe GlideStream, Slip Stream XT, and Grand Flex Fans

For what it's worth the Scythe USA website has this to say at http://www.scytheus.com/

"We expect to be back in operation by end of October under a new management team at a new location in La Puente, California. "

I will be glad when they are back up and running with product available.

Re: Rosewill Silent Night 500 Platinum 80 Plus

The fact that this model seems to be less prone to electrical noise would be a big plus to be. Less chance of having to return a purchase would probably make me go with this one.

Nice looking rig, thanks for posting. I have the original P280 without the window and I have also covered the top fan mounts with foam.

Re: Bang for the buck silent cooler for i5-3570K?

If the Thermalright Macho is available, I would recommend that. It seems to be a good cooler and the fan is really good in terms out noise. There is a smaller 120 version available, although I don't believe it's stock fan is regarded nearly as quiet.

Re: Cooler Master Seidon 240M: Dual Fan Liquid CPU Cooler

To be fair, I don't believe I have ever heard anyone suggest that an all in one water cooler is good for a silent system. Generally they are recommended for overclocking or convenience. The $100 figure you stressed is actually competitive with other models on the market. While I would not personally...

It does look nice, although it may be difficult to get in the U.S. Since their distributor went out of business Scythe products are getting rarer. I hope it is corrected soon.

Re: AMD Trinity: A10-5800K & A8-5600K 2nd Gen APUs

Nice review, although I would disagree with one small part. I don't feel you could compare the graphics of these chips to a sub $50 discrete cards- rather I think that is on the low side. From what I have read you would have to spend approximately $75 or perhaps a little more. I know that is a small...

I wish the AnandTech reviewer would have expanded more on the SPCR certification issue - what his problems and views were. He kind of dances around it. I'm not saying they couldn't be constructive but he comes off as somewhat passive/aggressive.

It's ridiculous. That should just be a firmware or SATA option.
It would make life a lot easier. That's always been a stumbling block for me to use the RE edition drives.
