Re: Thermaltake Suppressor F51

Good link to the legitreviews post. That definitely shed some light on things I don't follow too often. My opinion of Thermaltake has changed.

Thermaltake Suppressor F51

Happened to stumble upon the news release for this case. http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002676 My initial thoughts is that it looks very similar to a Fractal Design Define series case. It is neat that you can place a 200mm fan in the front. I also think the magnetic filter str...

Re: Radeon R9 290X Cooling

1) are you connecting the NF-S12A PWM to the R9 290 4pin PWM with the supplied converter? 2) Are you able to control the the rpms with the software of the card? and if so whats the lowest you are able to set it up? 1) Yup, I was able to connect the fans with the converter. 2) Yup, I'm controlling t...

Re: Radeon R9 290X Cooling

I finally got around to getting an after-market cooler. I decided to go with the Prolimatech MK-26 and two Noctua 120mm PWM fans. Before: http://i58.tinypic.com/2crq6td.jpg After: http://i57.tinypic.com/2zjfhow.jpg Some initial thoughts: - Installation had some troubles, especially placement of memo...

Re: Radeon R9 290X Cooling

Thanks for the suggestions. I did not think to consider the weight/stress on the PCIe slot. I'll have to remember to take that into consideration as I shop around.

Radeon R9 290X Cooling

Due to some miracle, I won a Radeon R9 290X some time ago. Performs great. However, like many people on the Internet, I have found the heat and noise this GPU generates to be insane! Not even gaming, I see the card go up to 94C. Turning up the fan to 80-90% brings the temperature down significantly,...

Re: Scythe Mugen 4

I was going to post this also.

I have a Mugen 3, and I think it was the best value cooler at the time I got it. I haven't kept up with cooler technology lately, but it seems that the Mugen 3 is outclassed by many other products out there. Is that true?

Hope to see reviews for the Mugen 4.

Re: Vapor-X Cooler

Sounds like it could be good. Has all the right features, such as universal socket compatibility, PWM header, and room for memory modules.

Hoping for some performance reviews to come out.

Re: Nanoxia Deep Silence 1

Looks like a good case. It seems to me that a lot of manufacturers are moving to the minimalistic, no frills look with all the essential features such as case dampening, cable management, and hard drive cages. Just off the top of my head, cases from Antec, Corsair, Fractal Design, Lian Li, and NZXT ...

Home Server

I'm looking to building a home server, but not really sure where to start. Here is what I would like to do: - Store my data - Stream media to my home network, or from someone else's. - Remotely access and manage However, on initial research, there seems to be many options and technologies out there:...

Re: Fractal Design Define R4 launches

I almost want to give up my R3 for the R4. It sounds like it improves on a lot of little things. I'm definitely excited for 140mm fan options. The wider case makes it easier to put on that side panel. The front fan filters pops off easily for clean up. Although probably not that important, I think t...

Re: My Entry into Modern/Quiet Computing

To me, the computer is practically silent. The nosiest part are probably the 3 Scythe Fans I have (4, counting the one on the Mugen 3), once they start kicking up over 1000 RPM. The Sapphire 6850 Vapor-X gets pretty noisy if I turn up the fan speed manually in MSIAfterburner to over 50%. Otherwise, ...

My Entry into Modern/Quiet Computing

Hello members of SPCR, I have been lurking here for quite a while, and have learned much from many of the great posts here. I thought I would like to share with you all my computer build I did with all the vast amounts of knowledge I learned here: http://i40.tinypic.com/20usxep.jpg Below is a list o...
