Corsair Hydro series have high rpm fans and are known to have issues with pump noise. Would not recommend for a quiet pc.

I've ordered a 140mm Be Quiet! Dark Wings fan and will maybe post (if my canon camera has good enough sound quality) a few videos comparing the noise with a NF-P14 and a stock fractal design fan.

I could try buying 1 Be quiet! fan and making a report here, but only if anyone here is interested.

Well since there are no lower rpm Noiseblockers, I'll have to pick between Be quiet! and Noctua. The prices are essentially identical, so it will be a hard choice to make.

After digging deeper I've also uncovered that I can buy some Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro pk3s (the only retailer here that has a wider selection of fans also is also cursed with a very slow and hard to use inventory search). So another contender to join the others, any good word on these ?

I need to replace the stock 140mm fans on my define XL due to them developing bearing(?) noise, but reliable information on 140mm fans is quite scarce. Yes, but you should probably keep in mind that I have a full tower case with good airflow (Define XL) so the temps are bound to be lower than in a constricted case. But depending on the load the temps usually fluctuate between high 30s and low 40s during light usage at essentially the same low rpm. ...

These options would only work if your motherboard supports voltage control on CPU fans, because NH-D14 comes with regular non-PWM fans. You could try using the resistor cables that come with it. And the fan controller is not an easy option either, most motherboards don't boot if you don't have an op...

There is also a SE2011 version of the NH-D14 where both fans support PWM (currently no pwm version for the NF-P14 is available separately) and can go down as low as 300 rpm, but you'd have to buy a mounting kit to mount it on a different socket.
