Re: Mid Range, Hopefully QUIET PC
Corsair Hydro series have high rpm fans and are known to have issues with pump noise. Would not recommend for a quiet pc.

Re: Replacement 140mm fans.
I've ordered a 140mm Be Quiet! Dark Wings fan and will maybe post (if my canon camera has good enough sound quality) a few videos comparing the noise with a NF-P14 and a stock fractal design fan.

Re: Replacement 140mm fans.
I could try buying 1 Be quiet! fan and making a report here, but only if anyone here is interested.

Re: Noctua NH-D14 or TRUE 120 Black for a 3930k?
I didn't see that last post. Thank you! It the SE versionof the Noctua NH-D14. I plan to connect both fans to a Zalman RPM controller to tune it up or down. You can connect the heatsink fans directly to the motherboard, it will allow for automatic control with temperature curves, the NH-D14 comes w...

Re: Replacement 140mm fans.
Well since there are no lower rpm Noiseblockers, I'll have to pick between Be quiet! and Noctua. The prices are essentially identical, so it will be a hard choice to make.

Re: Replacement 140mm fans.
...Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro pk3s ... any good word on these ? They are 1700 rpm fans and there seem to be some complaints about this fan ticking when undervolted such as this one on YouTube . As you have a Fractal Design case can you buy the Fractal Design 800 and 1000 speed 140mm fans in your ...

Re: Replacement 140mm fans.
After digging deeper I've also uncovered that I can buy some Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro pk3s (the only retailer here that has a wider selection of fans also is also cursed with a very slow and hard to use inventory search). So another contender to join the others, any good word on these ?

Replacement 140mm fans.
I need to replace the stock 140mm fans on my define XL due to them developing bearing(?) noise, but reliable information on 140mm fans is quite scarce. The fans don't have to be super silent due to it being a gaming machine which is pretty noisy when on load, but I'd like them to have some longevity...

Re: Temjin TJ08-E Intake Fan Control, HS, Damping
Yes, but you should probably keep in mind that I have a full tower case with good airflow (Define XL) so the temps are bound to be lower than in a constricted case. But depending on the load the temps usually fluctuate between high 30s and low 40s during light usage at essentially the same low rpm. ...

Re: Temjin TJ08-E Intake Fan Control, HS, Damping
I have a 3770k running at stock with a NH-D14 SE 2011 on it (2011 socket edition has both pwm fans, unlike the regular nh-d14) and it keeps my cpu at 38C while idle or non cpu intensive tasks running at probably 300 rpm (can't trust fan xpert cause the fans are connected via an y splitter to a singl...

Re: Silentest 180mm Fan possible
Thanks for the heads up, I will probably buy one for my case. Even if its noisy it should be quieter than a defective whirring fan I currently have.

Re: Noctua DH-14: Stock fan control
These options would only work if your motherboard supports voltage control on CPU fans, because NH-D14 comes with regular non-PWM fans. You could try using the resistor cables that come with it. And the fan controller is not an easy option either, most motherboards don't boot if you don't have an op...

Re: Pulling My Hair Out-Cooler Choices
There is also a SE2011 version of the NH-D14 where both fans support PWM (currently no pwm version for the NF-P14 is available separately) and can go down as low as 300 rpm, but you'd have to buy a mounting kit to mount it on a different socket.

Re: Silentest 180mm Fan possible
Having been mentioned in this thread, has anyone tried the phobya 180s? It's hard to find any useful info about these. I have ordered the Phobya 180mm LED fan (going to cut of the led part) but it might take 1-2v for me to get it. If you want a review i can report back. I'd be very grateful if you ...

Case recommendations.
Hello everyone. I am doing my first manual pc build and I want to build one as quiet as possible and would like you guys to help me pick a case. My build will be a rather meaty gaming build, and I tried picking my components with less noise in mind: CPU: an i5 3570k with a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 heatsin...
