My Silent Titan (Antec P100)

It's incredible to see the how far technology has come in terms of silence and computing. I'm amazed how a lot of stuff I used to customize before are no longer needed. Here is my rig On 24h a day, 365 days a year : 1x BeQuiet Darkpower Pro 11 Platinum 550W 1x Antec P100 2x DemciFilter Custom Filter...

Re: 4 pin fan headers on motherboard ?

thanks for your reply.

It seems that gigabyte is now on par with the rest thanks to a bios fan control.

I was just looking at the issue from a technical standpoint. Is it the same ?

Re: Small Silent Case Comparison

I have built a bigger machine before

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=65805

it is COMPLETELY silent, I can't hear a thing, it's inside my cabinet.

I am looking to do something similar on a smaller scale, hence me asking.

I bought a WD Red 4tb and a Seagate NAS HDD 4tb.

I'm not gonna give you any measures as I'm too lazy...

BUT

WD Red gets hotter and noisier than the seagate nas hdd.

So returned the red and bought 6 seagate nad hdd 4tb.

Re: The Silent Monster

Update 2 : I changed my 6x WD Red's 3 TB with 6x Seagate NAS HDD 4TB. Vibration was reduced, noise also. The trick is not to tighten the screwdriver on the rubber grommets. Really really keep it loose, barely in. The vibration is not so different from the elastic way. I went to dmcifilter and made a...

Update : This PC Case has modular hard disk cages. So I added 6 hard disks. WD Red's 3TB. I removed the middle cage of 2. So there is a top cage with 3 disks and bottom cage with 3 disks. I also added another shadow wings pwm fan on my motherboard. The hole system is inaudible. I have only one main ...

My WD20EARS HDD were quiet the first 6 months, then they started to buzz, i RMA them and i got brand new hdd which were as noisy as hdd that i sent back. Re: The Silent Monster

Very nice setup. From my experience, you cant have a quiet computer with 6 HDDs. Even if its a quiet model, you will hear buzz or scratch, maybe not immediatly, but after couple of months. It drove me crazy you know so i decided to build a NAS. Regards. I have a NAS, and I don't see why it will mak...

Nice one, at least someone else who does something "monster" PS: how's the retention system on the U12P? I had the U12DX1366 and I had to modify it since it always had a tendency to detach from the CPU in a vertical config. It's perfect, easy to setup and seems solid. If there was solidit...

Is it my eyes or is the rear fan a 140mm so its making to bottom fan look smaller that 120mm ? Also does the temperature of the GPU stop you from doing a custom fan profile for it ? how hot does it get ? But im guessing if its quiet enough there is little point  the top fan is 140. all the oth...

Re: The Silent Monster

What fan speeds are you running? If they're PWM I'm guessing they're thermally controlled so what RPM do you get under load and idle? Any further work you might do with fans? The fan speeds go from 400 (Dead silent) to 700 (Dead Silent). It's waiting for the 6 3Tb Red WD drives and it will be done....

Not that i know much about NAS, and i guess you have already considered using one instead of having 6 HDD. Though i would be interested in your opinion on why not NAS as I'm looking into them myself ATM. Also i highly recommend some kind of SSD, best upgrade ive made this year. RAID is for uptime. ...

Re: What do you guys think

Yes, For the motherboard, I already knew that... But unfortunately, I want PWM, lots of them, and fanxpert, so it's a no brainer. Asus and nothing else. For the processor, what i want is a cool processor at idle, the coolest possible. and a speedy fast one under load, but very efficient so I don't h...

Seasonic Fanless vs KingWin / SuperFlower Fanless

Both of these units are good and efficent. Both are around 500w and both are fanless.

my questions goes to the buzzing electrical noise sound. Which one is better ?

I heard that the seasonic are plagged by this buzzing sound. Whether the kingwin / SuperFlower model is not.
