Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?

Streacom say they will introduce a GPU cooler, Streaflex 250W PSU and a 450W PSU in March. This will make it a lot easier to put descrete graphic cards in Streacom cases. Looking forward to see what they come out with!

Re: Fanless gaming PC ( Streacom FC5, GTX660ti )

Thank you Adventus! Hopefully the GPU cooler Streacom say they will introduce in March will be easier to get. Sorry to hear about the AFOX 7850. The airflow in the fc5 case is not good so maybe components with fans will struggle to get the hot air out of the case. When Streacom introduces the GPU co...

Re: Fanless gaming PC ( Streacom FC5, GTX660ti )

Eugenius, you seem to know a bit about mosfet stages and it will save you some work if you could do without the heatpipes on the mosfets. Just be aware of that the heat from the mosfets will stay inside the case if you don't use heatpipes, but I guess this will work fine with enough ventilation thro...

Re: Fanless gaming PC ( Streacom FC5, GTX660ti )

With the HFX classic you have an excelent case and in my opinion the best passive cooling potential. You are bold in your statements and you should be just as bold in your PC building. In my FC5 there are many heatpipes and I also think it's the heatsinks that are limiting the cooling. The many heat...

Re: Fanless gaming PC ( Streacom FC5, GTX660ti )

After reading alot of threads on this forum I realise many has a hard time believing in the cooling capacity of heatsink cases. For example when someone ask for buildingadvice for a small, quiet, lowpower PC meant for easy tasks like surfing, music or movies (no gaming), I have seen some being advic...

Re: Fanless gaming PC ( Streacom FC5, GTX660ti )

This is good news, it seems like the new FC5 EVO have some positive changes. I have the original FC5 and this case has no holes on the other heatsink. If you can buy an extra coolingsett with four heatpipes from the seller or from Streacom you should be able to mount this upside down on the other he...

Re: Fanless gaming PC ( Streacom FC5, GTX660ti )

The HD7750 in the Streacom FC5 is a good match, and the Picopsu 160xt/150xt will give enough power. The HD7750 has 55W tdp so four heatpipes will be enough. It will need very little modding, actually only three holes through the heatsink because you have to compress the mountingplates for the heatpi...

Re: Passively cooled, powerful, stylish: A Game of Compromis

It may be enough room to place the powerbrick/adapter inside the Streacom FC5, since you don't build it with a bluerayplayer. If you really should do it will depend on how much heat the adapter generates. The black plastic box is meant for external use, it don't take that much space and maybe it wil...

Re: Passively cooled, powerful, stylish: A Game of Compromis

Hi, it's a good list of criteria you have put up that I think a lot of people share, and when you aim at a graphic card like the HD7750 I think it should be possible without any compromises. I will just list up some suggestions: -HDPlex H3 with internal graphics (if this could do it). Internal graph...

Re: Silent PC for web and music

The heatpipe coolingsystems are adapteble to different motherboards. The placing of the CPU may vary a little but this is easy to adjust by pulling the heatpipes back or forth a little in the mountingplates. The later upgrading to new components is actually some of what I like with these cases. With...

Re: HFX Classic build

About how the graphic cards work internaly, or a CPU, I have no technical insight. I can only tell about my experiance and what I have read on the net. When I study the monitoring of the temp on my pc (with Realtemp or CPUID) the temp of the CPU fluctuates a bit to, but not so much. The GPU seem to ...

Re: Silent PC for web and music

The first PC I built for my father we used a NSK3480, it's good for airflow and is a small case compared to many others. For his next PC we found out he could go for the HDPlex H3 to get it completely silent and in an eaven smaller case. He is very happy about that choice, so for a PC with only a CP...

Re: Passive (well it was suppoed to be), silent I3-3470T in

Small and nice case! It can't get much smaller to house a mini-itx MB, so great choice of case. Original mount of the MB, I guess this may be the best way to use the top of the case for cooling, seems smart for the hot air to rise from the top. The aluminium block to transfer heat from CPU to the ca...

Re: HFX Classic build

Hello Neil, nice price on the heatpipes! I have also good experience with Mcubed, they deliver and have always answered my questions truthfully. You have good data on the heatpipes. I can only speak from my own testing and on my Streacom FC5 I tried to cool down the i7 3770K with just 3 heatpipes. F...

Re: Passive (well it was suppoed to be), silent I3-3470T in

I would suggest a mini-itx heatsink case. Without fans the heatsinks work better outside the case where the airflow is better and the air is cooler. Most cases will not change the air fast enough inside for the heatsinks to work effectively without fans, unless you have a really big heatsink and cas...

Re: HFX Classic build

Hi Pilv, congrats on your nice build! I am a big believer in heatpipe/heatsink cases and think the HFX classic may be the best cooling heatsink case there is. It is a bit heavy but have room for a ATX motherboard, can store the PSU internaly and have the best cooling capacity of any heatsink case I ...

Fanless gaming PC ( Streacom FC5, GTX660ti )

Hello, after some time of planning and modding the project of a fanless gaming pc finaly came through. For over five years I have had a HFX classic with an E8500 and HD3870 so I was ready for an upgrade. About a year ago I noticed the Streacom cases and since the pc is part of a stereo setup the cas...

Re: 100% passive yet powerful build needs case

For a PC without a powerfull GPU I believe the best solution is a case with heatsinks, feks HDPlex, Streacom and HFX. The heatsinks work best outside the case where the air is cooler. We have build a HDPlex H3: http://www.hd-plex.com/H3.SODD.html with a i7 3770, 160W PicoPSU w/192W adapter, Corsair ...

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?

Want to inform you of the progress on the fanless gaming pc. After some weeks the FC5 has gone through some changes: The original heatpipe system is replaced with HFX heatpipes to make room for some heatpipes from the graphic card. There is now four heatpipes from the VRM, and since the VRM give awa...

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?

I have thought about the 120W capacity that Streacom indicated for each side of the FC10, and think this is very good news. This means that both sides together has the capacity of 240W. The i7 3770k has a TDP of 77W and the GTX 670 170W, this sums up to 247W. The 670 seldom uses over 160W and the i7...

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?

"120W TDP processors had no problems getting cooled" interesting! Then the GTX 560ti (110W tdp) should be a shure thing then and the GTX 660ti (150W tdp, but usually around 134W) should be within reach also, and the GTX 660 (140W tdp). They say the GTX 670 uses up to 150-160W and with some extra mod...

Re: 100% Fanless midrange system - is this possible?

There are also some different solutions to cool the VRM. I think the safest way would be to use four heatpipes. The plastic mountingpeace is very adaptable so that will fit fine in the holes. the question is the aluminium block witch is about 4 cm long. The Mosfets seem to cover a area of 5-6 cm. Ei...
