Re: Dell DA-2 To PicoPSU, Will this method work?

Just to get this PC working I "grounded" Pin 5. Maybe someone will come up with a more elegant method and post it here. 8)

Re: Dell DA-2 To PicoPSU, Will this method work?

Disonesto and all, I know this is an old thread but I am trying to do exactly what Disonesto was attempting to do. (Moderators, please move this if in the wrong place. I saw a few half completed projects, and some refer to a "Dell DA-2 Power Brick Help" Forum which I haven't found.) I had a Mini-Box...

Re: What is a realistic expectation for I7-4770K based quiet

Gents, I'm running an i7 4770K with an Asus Z87-A Motherboard - 16 Gigs of Corsair DDR3 Ram - Plextor 128 Gig SSD (I have 2 others up to 448 Gigs as plug ins for various situations) in a Ghost Case. For grins I water cooled it and it's quite quiet (relatively speaking). It too sits about 2.5 feet aw...

Re: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell Processor

Just don't come crying to SPCR when you realise how noisy it is at low load. That's what Anandtech suggest anyway: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6916/cooler-master-seidon-240m-and-12-more-coolers-the-retest-and-megaroundup/7 Yes I did read the review in it's entirety. Here's a quote from their Conc...

Re: BitFenix Ghost: Quiet ATX Chassis

Hi, I'm not getting rid of the P180, just retiring it as my main Rig. It was a fabulous case in it's time. I had it for 5+ years but wanted USB3, a door that has hinges on the right, and the ability to mount a 240 mm water cooler easily. All things the P180 couldn't do. The quality of the P180 was s...

Re: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell Processor

Hi Gents, I found out from Noctua that their NH-D14 would fit on the Asus Z87-A MB but not with the Corsair Vengance DDR3 Ram in place. It seems the Heat Spreader is just too high. (I wish the sales guy at NCIX would have cautioned me here on this.. ) So I went for the Cooler Master Seidon 24...

Re: BitFenix Ghost: Quiet ATX Chassis

I purchased one of these a couple weeks back from NCIX but sight unseen. They wouldn't bring one in for me to see; the salesman said I didn't buy it they'd have to sell it as an open box item. They consciously risk a Customer not buying anything at all if they can't see it before hand. What's the po...

Re: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell Processor

Gents, Background: I went for the new Intel Haswell i7 4770K CPU, an Asus Z87-A Motherboard and 16 Gigs (2X8) of Corsair Vengance DDR3 Ram. This all will fit with the Plextor 128 Gig Pro Extreme SSD, and a 1TB Seagate Barracuda for on box Data inside a Bitfienix Ghost Case. I'm re-using my Corsair T...

My New Rig has begun...The Ghost is Coming...

Hi Gents, I was a member here some time ago but I guess it got purged as I've been away a while. I decided my old main Rig was a bit tired, and besides, I wanted something new to tinker with. So I went for the new Intel Haswell i7 4770K CPU. (I've been an Intel fan for ages. I never seem to f...
