Re: Silent MiniITX Skylake in 13.4 litres: 6400, GTX950, Nin

Just wanted to update that I built the rig for my SO using the non-windowed Metis with i5-6600, 16GB DDR4, Z170I Pro Gaming and a Ninja 4. I used a passive Seasonic Platinum PSU (400W) and replaced the stock case fan with a Noiseblocker Multiframe M12-2 and changed the orientation for it to be an in...

Re: Silent MiniITX Skylake in 13.4 litres: 6400, GTX950, Nin

Great build! you've inspired me to build something similar for my SO using the same case/motherboard and a Ninja 4 :) Questions: Was the Ninja 4 mounting mod just so it will be closer to the back fan or so that it will fit at all? and what kind of mod did you do exactly? Have you considered switchin...

Re: Case under $200

The Evolv ATX is primarily a custom water cooling case; it's not very good with air cooling. Gonna have to go with Abula on this and recommend the FT05 which is excellent for air.

Re: Watercooling in a FT05

So apparently the Swiftech H320 has been discontinued and the closest thing to it is the new EK XLC Predator 360 which looks pretty amazing on paper, since it's made out of high quality EK parts, but we'll have to wait for reviews to see how quiet it is in reality. In either case (no pun intended :)...

Re: Silent SLI case

If i was to build a SLI of GTX980Ti setup, i would go with the FT05 again, the only thing i would go different is i would go with Skylake, specially liking the MSI Z170A XPOWER Gaming Titanium one of the very few boards that have the 16x PCIe on the first slot allowing one extra slot between gpus t...

Re: Watercooling in a FT05

Contemplating how to build my new X99/Haswell-E system with a 5930K, I was considering going water cooling for the CPU since it's a 140W beast without even overclocking. I really love the way the FT05 is designed and I was considering maybe using a 360mm radiator mounted on top of the AP181s (probab...

Re: GameMi v2, FT05 + GTX970 SLI

Is there a reason why you decided to go with the Prolimatech fans instead of the stock Silver Arrow IB-E ones? I wanted real ball bearings for the horizontal placement and pwm so i could control them with the MSI BIOS. The included TY143 are fine fans, but i like more the TY147, so was either to ge...

Re: GameMi v2, FT05 + GTX970 SLI

Is there a reason why you decided to go with the Prolimatech fans instead of the stock Silver Arrow IB-E ones? also, what made you choose the IB-E over say, the NH-D15?

Re: SilverStone Fortress FT04 Tower

I was surprised there was no in-depth analysis of the AP182 and the possible fan speed/voltage configurations like there was in the FT02 review. Other than that the case seems pretty disappointing :( looks like I'll be going with the FT02 after all.

Re: Silverstone FT04?

Not to insult Anandtech or the guy who reviewed it but that reads more like a whiny blog entry than a case review. About half of the content is him whining, the other half is a bunch of random haphazard comparisons to other cases, there is no in-depth review of the cooling system, the fans, etc. I m...
