Re: Should airflow be prioritized with cases?
It looks like an ideal option for a silent machine is to fill Phanteks P500A with 4 beQuiet Pure Wings 2 140mm fans. This way, you get the best cooling with least noise.

Re: Should airflow be prioritized with cases?
Phanteks has indeed some very interesting cases.
After looking into them, I'm waiting to see what P500A will bring, it should come in June.

Should airflow be prioritized with cases?
For example, given these 3 cases: Silverstone RL06 Pure Base 500 Pure Base 500DX Which one would you pick? Only Pure Base 500 is specifically designed for silence. However, the higher the temps the more noise from fans will take place. Perhaps replacing all Silverstone RL06 fans with Silent Wings 3 ...

Would this be the best cooling combo for Define R6:

Re: There is no such thing as silent PC
Any chance you could share a screenshot of HWinfo or HWmonitor of you playing for a long session? im interested on seeing CPU temperature/load, GPU temperature/load, and their respective fans, as well as the Bequiet fans. I often monitored the temps with that exact program. I set all the BeQuiet! f...

So, 60C temp for under 20% CPU utilization is definitely not normal?
It could be that I applied too much thermal paste... could that be the culprit?

Everything was fine up until yesterday. https://i.imgur.com/3LEnMHo.png The 8700k is overclocked to just 4.4GHz, with Noctua NH-D15S, and with 3 Silent Wing 3 system fans in a Define Mini C case. They have dual mounting system, you can either choose the hard ones or the rubbery ones, which are highly flexible; they bend just enough to use that Noctua fan bracket.Btw how did you mount the Silent wing 3 on the clips

Re: Why is Noctua NH-D15S so loud?
All the fans now are Silent Wings 3 PWM, there was no problem mounting the 140mm on the NH-D15S.
The system is now quiet.
Noctua - never again.
BeQuiet obviously know what they are doing.

Re: Why is Noctua NH-D15S so loud?
1) Are you using the included low noise adapter cable with the fan to reduce max rpm from 1500 to 1200? I was actually wondering about that before installing everything, and people generally said that it doesn't matter if you have good motherboard and PWM. Additionally, it doesn't matter, because t...

Just 5 minutes ago I ordered another 140mm PWM Silent Wings 3 fan that will replace the fan in the Noctua CPU Cooler, the default one will go to garbage. Fucking Noctua, never again! I knew I should have gone with the BeQuiet, as I already got all the fans and the PSU from them, all of which are sil...

So, what temps you see at idle and load with the existing fan profile? I have not seen load temps go beyond 60C, even during the stress test performed by the Intel Extreme Tuning utility. I' already disabled all turbo features. The idle temps are like this , and the cpu fan curve is this . The Noct...

All the fans are set to work at 50% for 30C temp, with 3 increments of 10-15 up to 60C temp.

Re: Having speakers and headphones at the same time?
Do you know what is the cheapest portable DAC/AMP that would not cause degradation of audio quality?
These Audiotechnica M30x headphones don't really need it; they sound great on their own, so only possible degradation would be a factor for the cheapest one.

Having speakers and headphones at the same time?
I would like to have the convenience of not bothering to unplug headphones instead of speakers and vice versa. Both the Edifier speakers and Audiotechnica M30x headphones have a 3.5mm jack that plugs into the audio port, of which there is only one. So, I was thinking that maybe I could plug the head...
