Re: Silent GPU

the gaming x 1060 was an overbuilt cooler on an efficient card, with the equivalent in terms of cooler/tdp being a ~1660S/ti for this generation. still, I'm surprised your weren't able to wrangle a 2060 with an undervolt. what voltage/clock speed/temperature/fan speed were you seeing? what's your a...

Re: Silent GPU

if you don't mind me asking, what's the average RPM of your 2080 TI, I understand it's a more powerful card so it'll be different than a 2060, I just want a general idea. Short answer: usually the card dont pass 1200rpms. Long answer: i plan my build ( Corsiar Air 740 ) to have the two bottom Be Qu...

Re: Silent GPU

I was looking at the Powercolor Red Devil 5700 and ASUS ROG STRIX 5700/2600 Super because they have silent BIOS switches Both are good choices, i own a RTX2080Ti Strix and with the silent bios is very quiet. According to TechPowerUp PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT Red Devil Review , it runs 3db quiete...

Silent GPU

So I've done a bit of research and I'm at a crossroads at which GPU is really the best. I currently have a MSI Gaming X 1060 6GB card, it's served me well for 3 years now. It's super quiet, most games run at 1000-1200 RPM and is whisper quiet. Earlier this year, I decided to upgrade to an MSI Gaming...

Re: Quiet cooler for a Ryzen 2600

I had the mugen 5 rev b on my 8700k running at 4.7 all core with a very slight negative voltage offset. I didn't love the fan because in the ~800+ rpm range it had a sort of friction type noise that I hesitate to label a grind. to me it was very subtle and I could only hear it if I listened for it....

Re: Quiet cooler for a Ryzen 2600

You probably would be fine with Scythe Kotetsu , but you will also need the AM4 mount . How would the Kotetsu compare to the Mugen in thermals and noise? I'm assuming the Mugen would be better given the larger heatsink which means better temps and the newer fan with rubber vibration pads. Should be...

Quiet cooler for a Ryzen 2600

Here's my build so far. Ryzen 2600 MSI Mortar B450M 1TB SSD Corsair RM550X Noctua NF-S12A MSI 1060 6GB Fractal Define Mini C Seems like a pretty quiet build but I was wondering which cooler would be good for the 2600. Do you guys have any ideas? I thought a Mugen 5 would be overkill. I don't plan to...

Re: Potential upgrade

Hey guys sorry it's been a while.

Do you guys think a Dark Rock 4 (Non Pro) would be an upgrade over a Kotetsu. I don't know why but I've been noticing the noise on my Kotetsu lately as well.

Replaced default Kotetsu fan with a Kaze Flex PWM (RHP)

I wanted to replace my Kotetsu with the newer Scythe fans without having to replace the entire cooler. The Mark ii Kotetsu comes with the same fan. However the default RPM is 250-260 on idle, which is good for noise but I'm not sure about temps. According to HWMonitor my CPU is around the same as it...

Re: Potential upgrade

If you dont like noctua, go with Thermalright, has a lot of coolers to chose from, including good value ones like True Spirit 140 Power (if you can clear the height) or Macho RevB , both are around $50 and are good bang for the buck, if you wish to spend more LeGrandMacho but you wont gain much on ...

Potential upgrade

I'm using a Scythe Kotetsu on my 6700k and while it's nice and quiet, I'd like to start overclocking my i7. I already hit 62 degrees in most games at 4ghz, so I'm afraid my Kotetsu wouldn't be enough for a 4.5ghz OC. Noctua coolers look nice, but a bit heavy and ugly. I'm considering getting a Dark ...

Silent HDD

Hello. Sorry if I get tangential. I have a BitFenix Prodigy which does a pretty bad job of suppressing noise. I just put a 3 year old WD Black 1TB HDD in my PC after years of just having an SSD. I still have my 500GB 850 EVO in there, but need space for other things like music. I put some older vide...
