The subject says it all, I got one of those cheap (85$) printer mostly because it had both USB & // ports.

And it's damn noisy, the motor ran for 1-2 minutes upon power up, and the noisy fan for 10 minutes afer printing 1 page

None of the powersupplies I got did ever break up or die.

In particular, the Aopen (fortron?) one in my current server is a 300W that I have since 99 and has been running 24/7 for 3.5 years now, with a bunch of HDD (see "How much can a 300W PSU power ?").

A samsung failed on me a few weeks ago, it was my backup drive :( As I got a few config files and scripts, I tried to recover it using dd_rescue and dd_rhelp (accompanying script). Both are open-source, linux (unix?) only. The result wasn't too bad, I could have recovered most un-badblock'ed files.
