-5 Votage problem - Please help

NF7-S, AMD2500+, XP SP1, Seasonic 350W

Ran both Winbond AND MBM5.

They show the -5v at +3.55v.

Winbond goes crazy and my PC start beeping. MBM5 doesn't seem to care.

What's the prob? I haven't done any OC'ing. Is it a PSU problem?

What CPU? Will you overclock? Is price an issue? (I guess it is) Where do you live? Basicly we are talking about 3 setups with different cooling efficiency and different price, so it is a balance of price vs performance. AMD 2500 -Not overclocking and most likely wont. -Price is not really an issue...

Thanks for the info guys! Very helpful!

I'm still not sure which heatsink to go with, but I've narrowed it down to the:

-Thermalright ALK-800 + Panaflo
-Zalman 7000a ALCu
-Artic cooling copper silent 2 RT (rev. 2)

Any solid suggestions?

I've got a nf7-s v2 as well, with not a lot of room between the edge of the MB and the PSU (2.5 cm). How much space would you think is needed to clear the Zalman Heatsink? I don't want to remove the PSU case. What are my other options? -THERMALRIGHT ALK-800? But not sure it is will fit -THERMALRIGHT...

outch! I wish all companies followed Maxtor RMA's way. They send you the new part and you have 3 weeks to send back the broken HD.

I think it's happens, I was on a ATI forum where a few people had fan failures. Depending on the company, (ATI, Sapphire, etc..) they handle this prolem differently. They might ship you the a new fan or ask for the card to be sent back. That's where I'm at, I have to RMA and send it back. So no card...

Found this little fan that would do the trick:

Though the cost of shipping doesn't make it worth it. They do have a US/UK stores as well

Let me know how it turns out. They also claim that it will make it more quiet but I don't think that's possible with a Panaflo :)

My fan got crappy after one month. The store where I got it from said that that's not covered by warranty. It wasn't making so much noise when I first got it.

How would you set the panaflow? The zalman bracket will blow air down, not from the side.. can you bend it?

Cooling Radeon 9100

Well, after having my Radeon 9100 for a month, the fan is making too much noise. What are my options? -Replace the fan with .... -TermarTake Crytal Orb ($18) -Zalman ZM-17cu ($30) -Zalman XM80A ($45) -Vantec Iceberg A4C ($30) -> too loud? I'd like it to be quiet, but don't see the need to pay $45. A...

I looked around for the 800U but no one seems to carry it. I'm a bit concerned with the weight of the 900U.

I'm thinking of getting the MCX462+, good ratio between cost/performance. Though it's damn heavy 650g

So the way these software prog work is by undervolting the CPU (AMD)?
Doesn't that effect the speed of the processor? I was under the assumption that one of the ways to OC your chop is to over-clock it. And what happens if you do have the voltage upped.

If you get the ThermalTake 7+ you get Shin-Etsu X-23-7783D

http://www.thermaltake.com/products/venus/1770.htm

Too many versions, but atleast it's X23. now how good it that Heat Sink?

Which one is the newer stuff?

-Shin Etsu X-23-7798

Why is it so damn hard to get? They need a better marketing Dept.
