I realise this is a silent pc forum but watercooling is a silent way to cool the PC, am I correct to say so? :p

I'd like to ask for dBa readings, but that is most likely out of reach for most folks :(

P4/AMD Watercooling Overclockers! - Post temps here!

For all the Pentium 4 or AMD overclockers out there - please post your watercooled rig temps here. Please include: Temp (idle): Temp (load): CPU (i.e. P4 3.0GHz @ 3.6GHz) Vcore (i.e. 1.95v) Mobo (i.e. ABit NF7-S v2.0) RAM (i.e. PC3200 Kingmax DDR500) Latency (i.e. 11-2-2-2) Video card (i.e. ATI X800...

Aqua computer in Germany have some side cooling HDD slots which I presume fit in a 5.25" bay. At 80 Euros a pop - they ain't cheap. They got a top cooler for 40 Euros though - that looked interesting. The reason for my technical drawing was to reduce the temperature of the HDD as low as possible bec...

OMG!! That looks REALLY irreversible.

I don't want to thermal paste anything as a watercooling block should be as reusable as possible.

Its a little hard to cool the bottom as its open circuit down there not to mention there is nowhere near enough surfaces to conduct the heat. I noticed the sides of the HDD do become hot but also when I placed my hdd in suspension in the case, on warm days, the top of the hdd do become pretty hot. H...

Just to add a few things which might help: 1. COST - you gave a figure below 250 british pounds but didn't mention exactly where. Thats almost AU$700. You will have to bring the price down to AU$400-500 for it to be competitive with the other WC kits out there. Anything more expensive and the averag...

Project Watercooled HDD - Improved ZFZ model - err...maybe?

Finally decided to go watercooling....for the first time and to the max. This will include PSU, HDD, GPU and CPU. I had a look at Zero Fan Zone's website regarding his HDD cooler and thought I could improvise upon the design. http://www.ezyrc.com/picM.jpg If you can make out the pencil layout which ...

Ha ha ha - I don't know where mg1394 gets his physics idea of "a larger, more massive drive with the same whine and more mass vibrating" ? LOL :D A drive that weighs 1kg will vibrate less when it weighs 3kg - this is due to the law of conservation of energy. The same energy is used to vibrate the dr...

TOTAL silent HDD Project - no whine, nada, nothing

It seems there is no product out there to completely silence the whine of a 7200rpm drive and above. My proposed idea is rather brute and primitive and some will consider it excessively large but for the purpose of complete silence, I will tolerate the size. I was contemplating of carefully sandwich...

SLK900U + Epox 8K7A+ RAID Mobo???

Just found out that the Thermalright SLK900U hsink may be too large for some mobos. Panaflo 80mm Low Speed @ 5v overheats!!

A slight problem I encountered while using the Panaflo 80mm low speed in my PSU. At 12V it runs the system air well although you all know - at an elevated noise level. We all know at 5V the panaflos are pretty much dead silent. So what it seems is that at 12V - the panaflo is moving 24cfm air throug...

The article on the SilentPC's menu regarding the cooling for the 2 HDDs in the *rubber boxes* - did the writer actually cooled the HDD being FULLY enclosed with a fan from the outside?
