Hi, So the 2500 KS is NOT louder then the JD or JS models and has no annoying frequencies in the idle noise?! Anybody can confirm this cause some reviews say the KS is louder then the 3200JD and also the SPCR review of the 2500JD with FDB motors you can read over here: http://www.silentpcreview.com/...

It seems those drives are being seen as drives that are both silent AND good performers, so ...

How good and silent are the WD2500KS and WD2500/3200JD?!

Hi, I am looking for a drive for audio/video production, so I need a drive that is silent but at the same is also a very good performer! I need around 250MB. Anybody can tell from experience how good (performance) and silent the WD2500KS and WD2500/3200JD are?! I am not gonna risk buying the T7K250 ...

Hi, Anybody here who has experience with the Hitashi T7K250 (notice the "T") and can tell if it still makes that "head reset noise" every 10 minutes when the drive is idle which apparently still was the case with the previous 7K250 model according to following review: "One of the general complaints ...

Best silent performer: what about Hitashi T7K250 or WD2500KS

Hi, After reading all the reviews in the world I still don't know which drive to choose. What I am looking for is a 200/250GB drive that performs very well but also is silent. I need it for audio recording so it has to be a good performer. What can you recommend and which ones should I avoid in your...

Maxtor DM10: should I worry about component design life = 5y

Hi, Just wondering, but what is the average life of a Maxtor HD. I intend to get the DM 10, but it only has a warranty of 1 or 3 years. Does that really mean that there is a big chance that the drive won't be working anymore after 3 years or something? Thing is I still have an old PC here somewhere ...

Do Maxtor DM10 160 + 200GB both have same platters + noise?!

Hi, Am I understanding it correct that a 200GB Maxtor DiamondMax 10 drive won't make ANY more noise then a 160GB or 120GB DM10 because they ALL (?!) use 2 platters that each can handle 100GB or will the 200GB still make a bit more noise because of different reasons?! I beleive that the Maxtor DiamondMax 10's are fairly new (or at least the quiet ones are new) so that may be dated information. All the Maxtor DiamondMax 10's use fluid dynamic bearing motor for quiet operation. - What do you mean with "at least the quiet ones are new"? Are there perhaps 2 types of...

Hi, Some time ago, I remember that people told me to buy a Maxtor since it gives excellent performance while still staying quiet enough. Isn't there an SLK3700 *without* door?!!..

Hi, Of all cases, I must say the SLK3700 is probably my favorite, especially because of the unique air intake slots it has on the front that create a non-direct noise path to muffle outgoing noise. Good design, except for that door you have to open/close all the time. Simple question: isn't there a ...
