Since I've never owned a P4 M, I can only speculate here. The HT-101/P4-2.66 runs plenty cool on just the one fan....but it is ducted. [...] To get a heatsink of this type to work best with only a case fan and no duct, the heatsink would have to be very close to the fan....say 1/2" or so. But since...

Well I don't know about the DP-102, but like you see in the Yahoo album, I am using an HT-101. It's an excellent heatsink, and could probably be used any number of ways. [...] Thank for your post Bluefront. I've read lots of good ideas in your posts. :-) So if you think HT-101 is a really good HS I...

There is an all aluminium version of that Aerocool called HT-101jr. It is lighter and generally sold for less. Since your CPU is not that hot..... Thank you for your suggestion. But I've found a Aerocool DP-102 tower heatsink for a really low price. Do you think could it be good for my setup? And t...

Sounds like a typical Bluefront (forum link) to me. Links to a topic where the famous Bluefront describes a one fan setup. You'll find a link with pictures halfway down the first page. Thank you. Interesting setup. But I was thinking something different. Definitly mine would be a 2 fans setup. 120 ...

The major problem with this heatsink is that it is made to fit 2*60mm fans, and there are no really good 60mm fans. (Read a lot more about 60mm fans in the fan section). I don't want any fan on the heatsink. I would mount only a 120 mm case fan, facing the HS fins, in the antec 3700 AMB case. Seem ...

Silverstone nt01 - passive heatsink

Hi all, I'm going to bulid a new system. The main advice I need is about the CPU heatsink. I've seen this product: http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-nt01.htm and found nothing about it here yet. There's a review here: http://www.extrememhz.com/nitrogon-p1.shtml I think is interesting for me bec...

frosty. I'm not an expert, but best PSU have a thermal control circuit. So the fan runs at 12 volts only when really needed.

e-ghost, I was in a similar situation: could not get a Fortron or Seasonic here in Italy for a reasonable price. So I got a cheap PSU with only 1 fan exhausting and with the intake side of the PSU case completely drilled. I opened the PSU, removed the stock fan, cut away the fan grill, mounted a Pan...

Why buy a louder and more expensive Papst fan from noisecontrol.de instead of buy a Panaflo from Doroty?

Thanks for advice guys! I'll take a look at french resellers, I don't think they ship to Italy (yourland does not). I can't find panaflo in Italy. The cheapest way to get panaflo here I think is order from www.siliconacoustics.com (USA) :-) Cheaper than order from http://www.theoverclockingstore.co....

[quote="halcyon"]That Codegen PSU mod looks dangerous, even if you know what you are doing :) Thanks for your answer. I know it's dangerous, in fact I think I'm going to keep the fan in my PSU. Fortron 120 mm or modding?

Sorry for my poor english. First post here, after some time lurking getting very good suggestions for silencing my system. I'm in trouble for silencing my PSU. Possible solutions. - Replace with the Fortron 300W FSP 300-60PN with 120 mm fan. But the only place selling the non PF version in Europe is...
