Completely passive CPU cooler

Anyone seen and/or tried this out? Looks like it might be a good thing for the silence in us. :)

Well I have the high pitch sound and it only started coming from my computer after installing a second cd-rom. Makes me think its just a psu workign harder. For people that are still hearing this try removing some parts that draw power from the psu (extra cdrom, fan, etc) to see if that helps.

PSU gets loud at 32C case temps!

I have a Fortron 350 and at case temps below 32C it is completely silent but as soon as it hits 32C the fans kick into some warp speeds and are really loud. Any thoughts? I am willing to mod it if needed but still would like it to be safe to use ad don't want to cut down on its life too bad if possi...

I just recently picked up the SATA seagate and it is pretty silent when idle but while accessing it is pretty loud. Not as much the spinning sound but the other usuall hard drive sound. Good drive overall and I like it though.

Well to start you could clean up those wires. With just the low speed fans pushing air around in there the psu wires are blocking alot. I wouldn't be amazed to see a pretty good drop after you do so.

Most people are saying the 92mm because they push more air for the nosie they produce which is less than the 80mm will. The L1A is avaliable in all sizes, 80, 92, 120mm, all are around, you just have to find them.

Jeez with that kind of heat it will take a pretty good h20 setup to cool even. Hopefully they will fix it or else my good ol' Barton will be around for a long while. :D

I just picked up a new SP-97 to cool my overclocked Barton and it is working wonders. The only place I found that sells them as of yet is heatsinkfactory.com and they charge pretty hefty but it works really well. I use a 92mm M1A on mine and an L1A should work fine also, just watch those temps at fi...

Thanks for the input all. Considering my psu has fans that could work as exhaust I may try it without the 120mm stealth as well as you all have done. It puts out an annoying click when running anyways.

Is one fan enough here?

My silent build I have been working on is slowly getting more quiet thanks to you all so I have I have one more question. Will one 120mm Vantec Stealth exhaust fan be enough in this setup? It has a P3 1.1 w/ no overclock and fairly good cooling. The case has pretty good airflow and very little clutt...

How silent are non-120mm fan Fortron PSUs?

I want to pickup one of the Fortron 530w PSUs but I'm worried about the noise. I know the 120mm ones are pretty silent but what about the ones with two 80mm fans? They still have the noise killer deal on them so what do you think? http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?DEPA=1&submit=Go&descriptio...

Ok, so there are no fans blowing on that Zalman hs? Or is one blowing in the hole to the duct? That is amazing that the HS cools that well with no fan. Very nice setup you have there.

You could always go for a full tower like the Inwin Q500. It has enough room to hold however many drives you want in there and has alot of room for silencing materials.

When I had a stock AMD cooler on my card it was really heavy and bowed the card some. What I did to fix it was make a small stand to prop up the card. I had rubber on both sides to help hold off vibrations and it would have worked fine with no fan at all for silence.

Well you could get the chieftec, etc cases but you would still need a psu. With buying the antec 3700 you will get a reliable failry quiet psu along with it for as much as you pay for just the chieftec. Those grooves may help a little with noise I'm not sure but they do help with airflow so they are...
