Re: Weird whistle i don´t know what to do!

ive had this, it was the rear of the fan blades being near the punched out grill off the case, changing the fan to a shadow wings, which has different blade design and more standoff at the rear fixed it.

the evga 850w g2 ran heaven benchmark, and aida64 for a quite a long time before fan kicked in

4.5ghz sandy and r390x which outputs 250 300w range by itself, may have had a bunch of drives plugged in too

Re: highish wattage psu recommendations?

Re: Any good heatsinks/fans for the new Sandybridge processo

1156 heatsinks will work fine, physicaly there the same size, mounting holes etc

but which one to get is more difficult, on the lower end the coolmaster hyper 212 is really popular £20 is around its cost

Re: Zalman not giving up on the "flower" heatsinks

my experience with zalman is the copper heatsinks, or the flower/ \|/ style ones the qualtity of just the heatsink was beautiful, the fit and finish etc. pretty much perfect. i guess thats still the same?

the fans where so so/poor i guess

extruded aluminium parts where mediocure

you can get soft rubbery feet (often made of deflex) for audio equipment, could get some of them for it to sit on, and depending on clearence, maybe get some soundproofing inside..

u tend to get longer warrenties on a bare drive too, something to consider. (3 vs 1 year)

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124166

something like that would be good, u can also get sata to esata cables too, which is the el cheapo option :)

my vistarse has been pretty decent actully, does it per disk (unlike xp?) sometimes it spins up, spins down, spins up the same disk. if your power management is abit wonky, try setting it to something else, then making your own custom one again
