Well, I haven't exactly gotten the Samsung utility. But I have used the Hitachi drive check. It didnt seem to report any problems, but that was about two weeks ago. I'll check it one more time now and see what happens...

Problem w/ Samsung

I bought a Samsung Spinpoint SP0812C. It's an 80GB and has an SATA interface. The first problem I encountered was formatting the drive right before installing Windows. I used the Silicon Image driver supplied by my Epox 8RDA3+ motherboard, and the drive would not format correctly. Then, I went to si...

That was my problem. I could get it to pass Prime for at least 30 mins at 190x11.5, but I had to have it at at least 1.8v, and then the temps leveled out at ~62 degrees. Way too hot, and I'm not gonna get some fan with extremely high RPMs. However, a friend just recommended that I try a 2500 Mobile ...

Cooling problems

I recently purchased an Athlon 2600 (Barton) with an EPoX 8RDA3+ mobo. I was hoping for a decent stable overclock, while still mainting a quiet system. For CPU cooling I bought a Thermlright SLK-900U and an 80mm Panaflo L1A. When I went to overclock it, I could only get it to 2.08 still passing Prim...
