Wow, this has turned into a war! I don't think a mac or pc is better then the other. Each has it's flaws. Anyway, back on topic! I already have a mac. I bought it about three weeks ago for about $250. Only problem is that I have no usb, and no external mouse and keyboard. Guess I'll have to buy a ca...

Here's a comparison between the Prescott, Northwood and Athlon64 http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/processorsmemory/0,39024015,39145079-2,00.htm They measured the power draw and also ran some benchmarks. The northwood was in most cases faster then the prescott. This came from the article: Power di...

Xice.de sells the WC kit from their site. If they ship it to the US they don't charge any taxes. Without taxes the kit is about 257 euros. That would be about $290. Please note that this kit is external. Anyway, I know that there are a few watercooling users on this forum, maybe they know a good and...

Re: will i need to reinstall my os
No, but you might have to re-activate it. I have swapped hard drives from one system to another without reinstalling XP.stooch wrote:If i replace my a7n8x with the nf7 does this mean i have to reinstall xp ?

Try to undervolt your CPU, it could lower your temps a little. You could try the X-Ice watercooling kit. I know it's available from silentmaxx.de, but I think you're American so importing it can be expensive. Maybe you can find it in the US. That kit works completely fanless. 8) Only downside is the...

XICE: passive watercooling?
Has anybody heard of this company, or tested their watercooling kit? Its designed to be silent, and it doesn't need a fan. They have GPU blocks and P4/AMD CPU blocks. Here's a small pic of how it works: http://www.xice.de/images/illu.gif A few links: the German Silentmaxx website Xice website test o...

If you have a Gigabyte mobo and you can't find any programs that work, try Gigabyte's EasyTune 4. It's actually a program for overclocking, but it also shows cpu temperature and the rpm of the fans. You can download it of http://www.gigabyte.com.tw

I'm using a Gigabyte GA-8PE800 with a PIV 3.06 processor. The motherboard allows voltage adjustements in 0.0125V steps from 0.8385V to 1.6V. My cpu is currently undervolted to 1.3V.
