I have the 6100 which is pretty nice and only cost £8. It's fairly quiet but I guess it could be quieter. It's quieter than my MS natural internet keyboard but I don't have any other laptop style keyboads that I could compare it to.

Multiple windows / tabs do put higher loads on the server. It's not the fan. I've tried two of them and they both had annoying ticking noises. I agree it does sound like a hard drive accessing as Maxamus says.

Your 1st link shows 1A max on 2nd 12V line which is obviously a typo. So I guess that the 5% and 120mV on the tw link are correct vs 10% 50mV (and whatever else is different) on the maxpoint site.

Hmm... whereas the Enermax does look a lot like the Globe fan, Enermax is much powerful & noisy. And it also likes to run at low voltages (say, under 5V). What about the fin orientation? On the nf7 the 900 has the fins pointing up-down and the 800 has them going left-right. I would have thought that it would be easier for air to flow along through the heatsink and out the case having them going left-right as with the 800. So maybe they work about the ...
