A 8800GTX SLi + a QX6700 Overclocked and Watercooled @ 3.7Ghz with 2 HDDs, 1 DVD drive and 4GB of ram, 5 120mm fans and a pump uses alittle over 500W. I would recommend the Corsair HX620, its what I use to power my system (above). It has alittle extra wattage if I want to later add more hardware an...

Asus introduces closed-system watercooling for 8800GTX

Thought this might be of interest for the folks here. I know I'd love to read a SPCR review of how quiet the cooling unit on this might end up being.

A8N32 SLI and heatsinks

I'm also looking at the A8N32 SLI and already have the XP-120 on my current system. It's a bummer that it blocks DIMM 1, as I'd be looking forward to filling all four slots with 512MB each (to Webmonkey who was wondering if it can handle 4x1GB - the Anandtech review stated that it can handle all fou...

As far as the functional difference in the amount of memory, I don't know. However, the Gigabyte GeForce 6600 PCI-Express is available in both. The GV-NX66256DP uses 256mb of DDR and the GV-NX66128DP uses 128mb of DDR. (The code seems to be "G" is Gigabyte, "V" is for video card, "N" is NVidia chip...

I really like this fanless 6600GT (PCI-e version), but would love it or something like it with 256MB of RAM. Anybody know of something similar?

My PC quieting project and a case question

After reading reviews and the recommended lists, I jumped the gun a few months ago and bought some stuff to try and quiet down my jet turbine - I mean my PC. I replaced the Enlight PSU that came with the case with an Antec TruePower 380, the Coolermaster HSF with the Vantec Aeroflow (the one with th...

heatsinkfactory.com has L1As for $9 and only charge $.99 for either a 3-pin or 4-pin tail - great deal.

I think I'll get some and test them out, since I'm ordering some other stuff from Directron. I'll repost and let everyone know how it goes. Regarding this thread in particular though - it looks like these long stick-like ones might reach all the way through the channel between the flanges, so he doe...

Cool, thanks for the good news, al bundy! I'm just now reading SPCR's review of the ARM Stealth PC and it uses this HS on a MX400 card, with an overhead fan as well.

Thanks miker. Doing some more looking into it I discovered that it requires the use of thermal adhesive to mount. I've never used thermal adhesive before - is it really unremovable once mounted? I'm a little leery gluing something to my video card that I can't remove if I decide it doesn't work well...

Zalman passive GPU cooler

http://www.zalman.co.kr/usa/product/cnpsvga2.htm

Anybody used this one or seen it used by anyone? I'm thinking this guy with a Zalman bracket/Panaflo fan would be all the cooling the GPU would need, and hopefully be quieter than the stock fan.

Rory mentioned mounting CPU fans in "suck" vs. "blow" mode - what is the opinion of the board regulars regarding these two configurations? I would assume that different heatsinks are affected differently (I believe MikeC's heavy heatsink roundup mentioned the difference on the Swiftech/Alpha design)...

So it's pretty accurate to say that the SS-400AGX ("Super Silencer") model is quieter out of the box than the SS-400FS model? Interestingly enough, there's no mention of the AGX on Seasonic's website - but I did find it at Fry's for $100 (for the guy looking for them in the US).
