I bought the Gigabyte GTX 670 OC and I'm quite amazed by its power and quietness. The windforce triple-fan cooler is probably the best non-stock HSF that comes standard on any GTX 670 manufacturer right now.

So I overclocked my E6600 to 3 Ghz but left the vcore at stock... whatever that is. I'm using the Ninja Rev. B with a the Universal Retention plate with the copper spacer... I used a thin layer of AS5 of course. This isn't my first build... however it is my first Core 2 Duo. Idle temps were around ...

yeah, i took pictures during installation because i thought people would like to see it. one word of caution though, the only reason the retention kit fit on my motherboard (asus commando) is because it doesn't have capacitors around the cpu. its got these other funny looking black cubes that are sh...

hate to say it, but it sounds (pun intended) like you guys have bad samples. i just built my new system over the weekend, and in the dead of night, i have trouble telling its on. its about 10 feet from my bed. i have 3 120mm case fans that run at the slowest speeds possible plus the 120 mm fan on th...

yup. it definately adds a lot more pressure and i think that helps. i'm using a lian-li v1100 plus. so the fan in the back of the case actually blows onto my ninja and it has a little duct or sorts. so there's no fan directly on the heatsink but i might as well be. its just more stable and less vibr...

Just use the << Scythe SCURK1 Universal Retention Kit & Backplate >>. I did and works like a dream. how do you use the scythe universal retention kit with the ninja? do you remove the push pins from that 775 bracket that screws onto the bottom of the ninja? or do u use the socket 478 bracket ...

wow how quiet do you want your sn95g5. mine is already very quiet. i could easily put a passive zalman nb on the chipset. but replacing the fan is not easy because u need to find a 4 pin pulse width modulation fan. i just use speedfan and put the fan speed to 40%. if that is still too loud for you.....

Fanmate 2 added to my XFX 6600 GT AGP
View my gallery of the mod http://www.macpham.com/albums/shuttle/DSC_0294_Large.sized.jpg suprisingly it makes little to no difference in cooling in my shuttle, idle temps are the same when fan is turned down as when its full speed screaming. probably because of the relatively higher idle temps. bu...

Urgent! Need 160/200 GB SATA, Maxtor, Seagate, WD, Samsung?
Does anyone have any experience with these drives? I want the quietest obviously, I'm having trouble finding a 200 GB DiamondMax 10 in my city but thats originally what I opted for. I've herd the Seagate 7200.7 are loud in the 200 GB flavour. There are also Caviar JDs available, but those are ball b...

well you definately only want 1 drive so the samsung pair is out. i would look for some reviews of the maxtors and seagates. find out which is quieter. or even just find a store that will let you return them if you don't like them. i run two 80 gb segate 7200.7 sata drives in my sn95g5. the 80 gb ve...

u can't change the fan on the sn95g5 so easily. well it uses the 4 pin fans, that have pulse wave modulation. i think thats how the ice system varies the fan speed. if you swap it with panaflo you lose that feature. in my opinion, the ice system is very quiet. in my sn95g5 anyway. it was suprisingly...

so unfortunately i don't have the space of an extra slot to use.
