Once upon a time there were nothing but tinkers to fold. They were slow and took many days sometimes weeks to complete. They were worth about 71 points at that time. Along came Gromacs, they were fast and did incredible calculations many times as fast as tinkers. Now we have a different class of Gro...

I wonder if the 20-40X would apply to both cores that I am running(opty165) or just one. I could quiet my house down by turning the furnace off and cranking up the GPU.

They are supposed to start the GPU folding thing towards the end of THIS month.

I wonder if it will have any effect on ATI sales? I know of one person who will be in the market for a new video card  8) .

I can't say for sure. I had a lot of problems setting up 2 consoles etc., but I know that my temperatures went up when I installed the dual core driver. I didn't run it without the driver long enough to get any kind of PPD average before to compare with PPD after.

You really should instal the dual core driver. Without it you have a dual core machine that is only using one core. You should have bought the cheaper single core if that is what you wanted.

Both of mine are @100% according to task manager(performance tab)

If I remember correctly I had to install an AMD dual core driver or something to get both cores to run and display two graphs and bars in task manager. Can't remember if I downloaded it or if it was on the Driver disk of the Mainboard.

You can count on the 70+ age bracket to remain ZERO! That would be like asking someone if they are under 16 still sucking on their mommy's tits. No one is going to classify him or herself in that category. You have defeated the validity of this poll and yourself.

I have a MSI K8NGM2-FID with a 165 opty and a Ninja SCNJ 1000 on it.

So far so good. The stock cooler with that opty is a good one. The Ninja only dropped my temps 3 degrees with both cores @100%. A waste of my money and time.
