Re: AMD Trinity: A10-5800K & A8-5600K 2nd Gen APUs

Excellent review Lawrence. The balance of topics covered is perfect for SPCR. I especially appreciate the value analysis that I've seen on these reviews here, including the CPU+mobo price, price per performance, etc. (and nice touch having one rating corrected for GPU). This is something lacking in ...

Re: SPCR Quiet Certified Gaming PC by AVADirect Custom Compu

This line just... grinds my gears. True to form, the AVADirect Quiet Gaming System is, indeed, quiet. I can't verify the certification by SPCR; most sound meters don't read below 30dB, so testing to see if those figures are accurate just isn't possible . No, just because you aren't able to, doesn't...

Fantastic to see a new fan roundup and great to see these brands in there that have been talked about a lot but never had serious testing. Thanks SPCR! The more fans the merrier by the way :) Everyone wants to see how their fan compares.

Great review and very cool card. It's awesome that Sapphire continues to build these kinds of video cards. I might get this for my HTPC/Living Room Gaming PC but I already have a 5770 in it. This would definitely save some power but I have been keeping it off lately anyway to save money. It's also i...

Here here, 140mm fan roundup with review site winning methodology and measurements! :) Yeah, nice list BD. The Fractal Design would be nice too since they already have them from the case reviews. Lian-li has a 140mm fan, but I don't know if it's a rebadge. Masscool has a couple as well (ball bearing...

At first I thought - kind of strange the way they're matching those up. They are different CPUs, less performance per core, but more cores on the X6. Not bad, actually I think they're good and they still have the best price/performance at certain prices. But you can't argue with their checklist as i...

Yeah, even if they made it so they came out even compared to how they do it now, they wouldn't reduce the price for the majority of users. They'd have a required plan minimum so the people not using much would still pay for more than their fair share, similar to smartphone data plans.

I recently finished building my computer and I checked out the fans a bit so I'll relay a little info here. I could say yay since I just built a new AMD 890FX system but I won't. Kudos to Intel for being on the ball and taking the hit. Good info. I have Windows 7 on it now. Once I got the HDMI working properly, I actually didn't notice much difference between using VGA to VGA vs HDMI to HDMI but I didn't take any time to compare closely. Of course digital to digital is always better than lots of conversions.
