This card is on my list. I think it's the most powerful passively cooled (out of the box) card on the market. I was a bit frustrated that this card is listing at near $200 on NewEgg but the price on some 9800's has dropped to near $230. Isn't the sapphire 9700 pro UE (for sure) or 9800XT UE (maybe)...

Do i need ram sinks for 9800Xt?
I am about to build a comp for my friend and he wanted a radeon 9800Xt. And what i was thinking was use a zalman zm80-c w/ the optional fan. Will the ram be ok? Will i need to get some ramsinks or will the airflow from the fan be enough?

Anyone ever go to a diff forum and feel superior?
I feel like this all the time. Whenever i try to suggest something new and better thats more quiet, they flame me saying that i'm lying. Then after a few weeks, the whole forum has adopted the ideas i spread. BTW...all of my silencing ideas are from SPCR, which i always attribute.

I'm not sure how good of a job I'd do at this, and how ugly the case would be afterwards... so I'm not sure. I think the fan isn't too expensive anyways. True, it does take a bit of work to make a clean cut. You have to pull all the electronics out of the case, cut carefully, file, and vacuum thoro...

Thats exactly what i was thinking because my friend bought some for his computers and sound equipment. He got them at flee(sp?) markets. Now the question is, will i be as lucky in finding them as him. And how much will it set me back. EDIT: you are talking about a filter connecting the AC power to t...

funny thing....monsoon is not in the computer speaker business anymore so they stopped offering support. My other speakers that were not flat panel, did not exhibit this kind of behavior. Could it be that the flat panel speakers are amplifying the sound for some very odd reason? Edit: i stress that ...

I can turn off my computer and only run power to the speakers and the sound still comes out. Its not the normal "hiss" that you would hear from "normal computer speakers". By the way, these are designed for use with computers. The buzz does not increase in volume when the master volume is increased ...

backround noise from speakers
I recently bought some monsoon mh-505 surround sound speakers. Right when i powered them up, i realized they have loud buzzing. I don't know if this is normal or because of some kind of interference. Anyone know if this is normal?
