BTW, did someone had a chance to compare 3 and 4 platter versions side by side? Is there any significant difference in noise, vibrations and speed? There's a thread in here comparing the three and four platter versions of the WD10EACS and there was a performance boost with the three platter version.

The "Great Zero Challange" (http://16systems.com/zero/index.html) has thus far gone unaccepted.

One would think any of the data recovery companies would be interested in the national attention that defeating it would bring.

Antec had such up a reputation as a maker of high quality PSU units; I can't believe that this thread is still going. I expected that the most recent posts would be a year old all with the same message: "Antec fixed the problem and the new version of the PSU is flawless."

My experiences with the NeoHE PSU in the P150 have been a little different than most, it seems. I built a PC in December 2005 using this case/PSU. The MB was an Abit AN8-SLI. My PSU had a serial number of S0509... I put the system together and everything worked fine. I did some stress testing of the...

Mobo Fan Speed Control (Abit EQ) Work as Advertised?

I'm putting together a new system build and naturally I have some Zalman Fan Mate controllers on the list of required parts. Correct amount of space? What's wrong with 80/160/320/480/640GB drives?
Marketing. The average consumer would rather buy a 500GB drive than a 480GB drive even if the 480GB drive had fewer platters.

JVC Motors on Samsung 200GB & 250GB Spinpoints

There has been some speculation that Samsung is no longer using JVC motors on its newer drives. As you may know, Microcenter sells Spinpoint drives in clear plastic cases and the motor is visible. I wonder if the whine you are hearing could be from either: 1. The PSU or 2. The motherboard.
