If you have to reduce CPU utilization because of high ambient temperature, you may try to use at the same time CPUidle. Here in Madrid we are suffering 39ºC under the shadow, so not wishing to cook my pc, I turned on CPUidle. Probably you'll see that cpuidle and F@H share the CPU fifty-fifty. If tha...

Except (again IIRC) the VCore is read/set by the BIOS during POST and is not changed thereafter (unless you have a mobile or A-64)? In fact, Vcore changes suddenly while running, some times from 1.65 to 1.85 and some times from 1.85 to 1.65, but when it changes it usually stays in the new value for...

Gigabyte 7VAX rev 1.1

The worse part is that I replaced northbridge heatsink :(

Maybe I'll try with another CPU on this Mobo, just to check it behaves the same way with another one.

What can cause Vcore to be higher than stock setting?

I'm having this problem some time ago but now things are getting worse. One day, after a stupid mistake from my part, the mb auto shutdown because of CPU overheating (110ºC). Then MBM5 started to show 1.85volts Vcore instead of 1.65  . I turned it on and off several times and with doing nothi...

Well, I'm using the .exe he post there and it's working fine for me, I don't have to change extra-info.csv. I don't know if it will work with American format, but I don't see that much trouble in fixing it, but it all depends on the language he's using.

Source of the problem found (at least for me) It turn out to be a simple, specific and rather stupid thing. It was a problem converting string to float, caused by a different configuration in decimal notation. I mean, here in Spain we use "," instead of "." to separate decimal numbers. So I tried t...

When you have time David, why don't you add a quick how to optimize F@H with flags section? Mostly for the AMD's user which may not be using -forceSSE as it's been discussed in other threads. Now that MikeC is appearing on TechTV and SPCR site is having a lot of visits, couldn't MikeC bump that Join the SPCR's Folding at Home effort to appear in the Main Page?
We could really benefit from that huge source of visitors and increase our members, don't you think?
