Volkswagen, you can also get a small “rebate” if you purchase at computers4sure through a cash back site like FatWallet (3.3%) or Ebates (3%). As I recall, computers4sure does not charge tax in NY. So your final price would be $84.09. The ETA for the cash back would be three months after your purcha...

He asked about the 400W Super Silencer, and SS-400AGX is the model number of the 400W Super Silencer. I think it is the one he wants because it is the one he asked for; and it is not on the site you linked to. How's that?

Burdy, I think he wants the SS-400AGX.
I don't know if you can find it anywhere in the UK, but there is a list of UK dealers in the Deals forum. You could also have one shipped from the US if you wanted to.

For 46 pounds, is this the 400W super tornado, or the 300W. I just got a 400W super tornado here in Cali, but it cost me $95. Even so this means I could have saved $30 or so trying to get it from the UK No. It is the 300W, and it is "only" £39.15 without VAT. But shipping something like that from t...

Copied/pasted from something I posted in a different thread earlier, in case this helps someone:

computers4sure has them for $86.95 with free shipping again...tax charged in 17 states. Some cash back sites give 3%+ at computers4sure, so you can get it for around $84 AR if you aren't charged tax.

I tried to consult Seasonic's web site , but this got me even more confused (no mention of FB and the FT seems to be a completly different thing from the Super Tornado). Look closer. FB is the model number for the (retail) Tornados. I think the FT's are just some kind of OEM version of the Tornado....

I am also contemplating the purchase of the SS Super Tornado, despite the original posting in this thread, since my understanding is that if I order from a reputable source like Newegg, I will get the new version - which fixes the problem. Is my understing wrong? Yeah, I think you are probably wron...

I assume you are quoting Newegg prices, so the shipped prices are actually $32 and $42. IMO, the 300W Super Silencer for ~$52 is probably a better deal. It should be much more efficient than the Fortrons, if that matters to you. And +12V: 18A... Oh btw, the SS price I mentioned will be before tax in...

CM is about the only "premium" case company I know of that uses wire fan grills on (most of) their cases. Those awful fan cutouts that you are talking about are only on the Centurion line, which are terrible cases. Not sure if you guys know this, but the I/O panel and PCI slots are all stamp-outs. H...

assuming that the side panel are the same as the rest of the antec/chieftec design, buy a separate side panel w/ window. I'm pretty sure they aren't. BTW, the most current CM cases do not come with windows. Only some of the older 201 and 210/220 cases have windows. And they are not really dropping ...

How much money would the FS be for you? If it was me, I'd really rather buy an AGX unless the FS was a lot cheaper. You could order a 3 or 400 AGX from somewhere; it would probably just be a bit expensive. But from what I've seen, the FS usually sell for around the same as the AGX...

BTW, regarding your comment on "promoted as quietest by the manufacturer", I think 300FB is promoted to have 22dBA and 300AGX for 25dBA. So, it is not necessarily true that 300AGX is promoted by Seasonic as THE quietest PSU No, it isn't. I guess it is okay when you point these things out. :? Has an...

MechanicalMan -- heed your own comment about the Tornado. Maybe they've got the problem completely beat by now, but why not just stick with the Super Silencer whcih does not seem to have had any problems at all? If the price is too high why not the 300 or 350? They all have really high 12V current capability --which is where most of the juice is being drawn by new system these days. Aren't all of the problems with the Tornado? I wouldn't really want to buy a Tornado after reading this forum, but I'm planning to buy an SS 400 in the next day or two. Can't say that I'm very happy with the price, though.

btw, breakspirit, where are you located?
